Who buys these Android Go phones? You can buy a junk phone with 4GB of RAM and a full version of Android for really cheap.

CAKE-BAKER, 19 Dec 2024This one better be priced under $20.The company should pay others to use this phone. That's the only way to compensate for the ancient specs

Well, for the first time i can say that this guys are lost...😑. They could do so much better, like skyline with 5 years support, but ney, they decided to cut it short for a lower price, it beats me.
I really wanted to buy it, but i want more support. They should concentrate on sustainability and better software overall... nothing overtook them and that sais a lot. Nothing might be some gimmiks in a device, but it does have good sleek software and fast updates for big fixes , and already made a difference for the user. HMD should take notes and stop playing around. Fusion could also be great, but nope they made it huge and sell it with the promised mods not being available. Also being released with a good chip for daily use but not good enough for gamers, what is that all about? I mean somebody needs to take over this company, and i mean, fast. My support for them ends with NOKIA x30, if they don't release something to matter in the next year, fairphone will be. Or even a nothing phone, even tough their support is also nothing to write home about i really like their commitment to bug fixes and interface, that also sits ontop of a clean android, hack even cleaner then todays hmd devices.
Y3ah they could definetly do better, i expect from them to do better...

This is great for those who are getting a smartphone for the first time in their life. Not everyone has the money to buy a $400+ smartphone. Literally the first smartphone I ever got was a gift and it ran some version of Android Gingerbread back when there was Android Marshmallow or Lollipop. We all start from the bottom.

2024 and it still uses SC9863A, I guess they're right about one thing about this brand being called Horrendously Mediocre Device

L.O.R.D, 19 Dec 2024This phone is electronic waste straight out of the box They could've easily discarded their existing inventory of overused chipsets and make better modules for their Fusion phone instead.

DarlingYext, 18 Dec 2024The color looks good, and the name sounds cool, but the dis... moreThe chipset is technically better than all Cortex-A53 processors (only due to Cortex-A55 being based upon the older Cortex-A73 cores), so you're negatively exaggerating for no reason here. At least, this phone doesn't use the terrible, decade-old PLS TFT display used in alternatives from Tinno (Honor/Huawei) and BBK.
A far sensible comparison would be the other wave of Helio G8x devices polluting the low end market, given that the Unisoc SC9863A is better than all of them except the fabrication process. That doesn't mean that this phone is the best available option with older devices with better chipsets for less. I have no reason to justify defending HMD, either.
The specification sheet doesn't look promising, and the design is too generic to appreciate (common design on most BBK and ZTE phones). Let's not forget how it's completely expected to have any compromise other than the headphone jack and MicroSD slot at this price point. I would only recommend this phone at $50-70, but not more than that.

It will be Tough for Them with the kind of spec's unless a Very Low Price. A 28nm soc is for 5 - 7 Years back entry level phones. It is a Very Slow Phone Even for Basic Functions.

HMD in 2017 is unstoppable, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8 are one of them. It is one of the most interesting phones in 2017.
