7 years of update...... The questions is, does the unit will that long without any problem with it's hardware??? Personal experience, amoled screen broke down, (Green line) after 3 years of use, now what is the point of the 7 years update.

Hmm, 21 Dec 2024Stop comparing Apple/Samsung to chinese phones and their sp... moreTrue. Anything over 12GB RAM is almost pointless in those Chinese phones as their OS would still behave like a 4GB RAM phone. Apps are still closed for no reason, notifications missed until you open the app, and browser still refreshes despite having plenty of free RAM and swap. It's basically only a spec on paper to upsell people.

Slapping some hardware together on factory assembly line is the easy part. Getting good quality software updates for 7 years is the hard part. That's what you get with Apple/Samsung. And that's why all chinese phones have horrible software and horrible software update support. In 2024 (almost 2025) 12GB or 16GB RAM is irrelevant. Software is the only real differentiating factor and chinese phones can't even come close.

Also when you go to a shop and they dont have the 128GB version then you get the 256GB version of storage. It's not upgrade in any way shape or form. It's just what you can get.
Upgrade means that you have something that you replace with new that is better.
Like for desktop computer you have 8GB ram and you add more 8GB ram that means upgrade. Or you take your old graphics card out and set a new graphics card in. Or you got new cpu and replace it with the old cpu.
Also i have been in gsmarena over 10 years for sure so what does new mean ? You dont even have a user accaunt in here to say something

Just Google spyware is overprotected and kept running 24x7 , while all the rest sent to deep sleep.. that's the issue, Huawei proved it by removing Google's stuff from their versions.. sadly we can't do that here too :(

Yeah, matching an IPHONE'S RAM and STORAGE is a terrible look, shows you how complacent Samsung has been, honestly it's embarrassing and disgusting. Everyone complains about Chinese phones being too expensive but forget that official Pro/Ultra models come with 16/512 GB models, Samsung costs more or the same for that storage option. That's just shady. What's shadier is the huge price cuts later on, meaning everyone who bought early got scammed hard.

TBH, I never found Android being taxing on 8GB RAM. Heck, we use phones with 12GB RAM or more, and they still force close apps and browsers still refreshes despite plentiful free RAM. It's all about the software and RAM management. Most Chinese ROMs sucks at RAM management and will force close literally anything, making the large amount of RAM pointless. OneUI is better, but in the end, it's Android that's not designed to scale well.

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2024For Asian market, all that concern is snapdragon processor.... moreExynos is not that bad. It's just worse than their Snapdragon counterpart. I don't mind Exynos as long as the device is cheaper because they perform worse than the Snapdragon variant.
