User: we need a Good multipurpose portable storage solution.
Samsung: check out these new micro SD cards we made they're more reliable in our testing.
User: whoa, cool, where do I put em.
Samsung: idk, your phone maybe, camera?
User: hmm, I have this super expensive phone you made last year but where do I put it?
Samsung: oh no, see. Our top end models and most of mid rangers do not take SD card cause you know SD cards are slow and unreliable... Try a camera though.
User: oh... Weird but okay.... I have this camera I bought couple years back but it says SDXC not Micro SD, the slot is too big for your cards.
Samsung: oh yeah, you need a full size adapter for that, here.
User: okay so why'd you make Micro SD and not full size to begin with?
Samsung: so you could put em in your phone too :)
User: but your hnnnnnghrr!.......*Agitated and confused noises* (-_-)

Since EU is making changes that are pro-consumer, they should next REQUIRE that all new smartphones, tablets and laptops have MicroSD expansion slots. Those that don’t comply should not be allowed to be sold in the EU.
Let’s see how Samsung, Apple, Google and other OEMs that don’t have MicroSD expansion will comply with this. 🤣

You are making SD-Cards but most of the S Series don't support them since S21.
Why? Okay those are in the past. At least make the future ones support it. I can't keep using S20 Ultra forever. Buying a phone without SD-Card slot phone means throwing the 512GB Evo in the trash...

Zendroid, 24 Dec 2024That's because you feel it get slower to support the s... moreThe Vivo X200 Pro he mentioned has UFS 4 storage. At any rate, anything that isn't an Android app/game will be served well by microsd cards. Sandisk and Samsung even have ones for 4k videos.
The emulators definitely don't need UFS and a gamer's library on sd card will mean more available storage for his Native android apps and games.

I think Sega went overboard with their characters by Sonic Adventure. Currently playing Sonic Mania and Sonic X Shadow Generations on my Steam Deck after I beat Uncharted 4 the other day. Also playing OG FF7 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy before FF7 Rebirth comes out for PC next month. I think Sonic X Shadow Generations is the greatest Sonic game of all-time surpassing my old favorite in Sonic 2.

Yes, that's the whole point, and it's great. Once microSD Express rolls around the speed will go up, and the storage will go up to 4TB+ too.
And if you are worried about losing data, which can happen with any storage medium, get two and just mirror them.

Why no 1.5TB and 2TB models? Samsung used to lead in microSD storage, but now they are behind SanDisk.

Hence you will lose data all camera pics & vids on in built 512gb.
Memory cards rarely malfunction & can be transferred to new phone. No data loss

I don't even how to install apps on microSD on Android, while I've been using microSD cards since 12-14 years now, since the Nokia N8 days.
I think Android Kitkat used to have this option to move apps to microSD, where is this option now?

I tested its 512GB card (bought online) using its software, it turned out to be genuine, then I used it for 3-4 years, before upgrading to a Sandisk 1TB (which has no such software but is also genuine apparently).

Looks good but my phone doesn't have micro sd card slot and has 512gb of storage. More than enough. Also bought type c flash drive with 256gb of storage. If that's not enough also have usb flash drive with 1tb of storage. Still not enough? Waiting for my laptop with 2tb of storage.
