Back in 2020 I bought the HP Pavilion Gaming with the same GTX 1650 as yours and it's still going strong until today, with no problem whatsoever.
Sure, it's still far more expensive than the Dimensity 8400 phone, and that's why I compare it to the cheapest 8 Elite phone, since both laptop and cheapest 8 Elite phone has similar pricing in my country. That's why, if you have Dimensity 8400 budget, just get that phone instead.
Edit: After all, it's back to each own's preferences. Some people needs a phone more, while the other one needs a laptop more. I'm that one type of people that use my phone for less than 2 hours a day (I usually just use it when I just wake up or when I want to go to sleep), but can use my laptop for more than 7 hours a day (mostly for my works and college tasks, ofc). Just buy based on each own's preferences.

Saying just buy laptop or game on rent/hourly charges to people trying to defend why laptop is a better gaming device?
I'll try this again. I never said phones are the best devices to game on. I said they're the most attainable and efficient at it. Wimulater is not the only emulator. Most people like to emulate PSP, NIN10DO, and other older handheld consoles. Mobile is not only competent but excells at that.
How does the conversation even get to 8 Elite? This is Dimensity 8400 we're talking about. The most affordable High end SD 8 Elite phone available in my country is going for about $680/- USD (Coverted so everyone has a point of reference) it's the IQOO 13 512 GB variant the 256 variant goes for about $630-645 USD.
Any and every laptop in that price range has garbage cooling, diaplay and other components. I know because I bought and Asus TUF A15 back in 2019-20 with Ryzen 4600H and GTX1650. The WiFi card never worked properly, the GPU side fan gave out 2 years in, the display has uneven brightness and severe ghosting issues, a key on the keyboard started auto clicking ao I had to disble it, one of the USB ports stopped working about 1.5 yrs in, now most recently the GPU doesn't work at all. It won't let me boot into windows even in safe mode, Linux Ubuntu boots up and detects the GPU but immediately crashes when any application tries to use it. Debian doesn't even detect the GPU. (Laptop has an integrated GPU but it's incapable of gaming), the trackpad was trash from day 1 but I overlooked it thinking who even games with a trackpad anyway.
(NEVER DROPPED OR LIQUID DAMAGED THE LAPTOP AND BOTH AMAZON AND ASUS REFUSED ALL COMPLAINTS MADE WITHIN WARRANTY PERIOD)
Laptops in that price range are just waiting for return period to wear off or the warranty to expire. They are not worth it.
Nothing, I re-emphasize, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING comes close to the efficiency and reliability of phone in that price range and especially if you are in Dimensity 8400 budget.
And again phones are not better GAMING DEVICES, they BETTER as COMPLETE UNIT and they serve more purposes in daily life than laptops could.
I want to game on PC/laptop, I tried and had one that I could afford. Me and and my friend bought the same model (he got 1650ti) but it failed both of us (he had his display replaced within 3 months and not he stopped using it completely).
A phone is simply the most logical approach for people like me. I hipe the message gets through to people this time.

Don't know what that guy was saying but even an iPad with the same M3 chip as a MacBook air can't even be better than the MacBook air.

No one claimed this is a "flagship killer", no... moreMy problem is that xiaomi T series, while it provides great value, but still does not fit the need for flagship specs with cost-cut on every department from vanilla Xiaomi 14. I'm not asking for value. There are people who would pay more for flagship specs, just excluding flagship SoC prices. 14T Pro could have done that, but instead they just put flagship SoC and kept everything the same as 14T. Even GSMarena review says its the same phone with a different chip.
A lot of non-gamers are forced into buying $800+ best of the best flagships because there is no inbetween. You said poco is a performance centric phone, I want the reverse poco. I want xiaomi 15's display, xiaomi 15's camera, but not $200 SD 8 elite. I believe the "reverse poco" will be very popular among non gamers and female consumers.

1. This is a midrange chipset, not a flagship. It's understandable they would have to cut costs while providing reasonable performance at the same time
2. Unreal Engine 5 is a much more graphics intensive engine made for PCs, not smartphones. Running a 100+ gb UE5 based game on a midrange smartphone is almost like looking for a toaster 💯

Mobiles can never play full AAA games at high resolution at Ultra settings, the high Res textures at Ultra settings are difficult enough for laptops with dedicated GPUs and dedicated 8GB of video memory. All this and mobiles can't even maintain 70% of their performance 20mins in a gaming session.
I don't want to play at a 720p resolution from 2005 and start at 120fps just to lose most of it after 20 mins and be playing at 60 fps or so afterwards.
