Ofc there's no laptop that can match the gaming performance of a $300 phone like this (except if you're going to find a second hand 2016-2019 laptop, but I wouldn't reccomend that). But if you compare a $700 RTX 2050 laptop to a $700 8 Elite phone, assuming that I have limited budget, I'd rather buy the laptop. You just buy a modem to do call and SMS (and use emulation just in case you use WhatsApp) on a laptop, but you won't get a huge collection of games, get a better gaming experience on a phone. Heck, things outside gaming like word processing, photoshop, and video editing are just better on a laptop.

Edit: I assuming that everyone on this website already have a phone to begin with. I'll say that again. If you want the best gaming experience and ability to do things that you can't do on a phone (which is a lot), just get a gaming laptop. But if electricity is still a big problem for you, then just get a phone. For me, I don't mind sacrificing flexibility of bringing my device anywhere for the sake of better graphics.

Soon to be totally replaced by m... morei dont know if you are trolling or you are serious but no, phone cant, in PC some powerfull hardware like rx 5700 are outdated and cant run newer games due to lack of rt and lower vram, even phone with sd 8 elite wont be able to run something like new Indiana Jones game.

The games on PC running on smartphone are optimized for it not built to play on it, that's why it can't push more fps and resolution at the same time. Smartphone will smartphone and laptops would be laptops there are no replacements except a foldable laptop or an 18inch foldable phone.

If you need more cpu power ryzen 5xxx series laptop brand new you can get around $200-300.

                It’s a good chip but don’t feel like it would be the right choice for a Poco F7. From what I gathered, the single core is 10% better than 8300, while the 8s Gen 3 in the F6 is 44% faster in single core. Multi core would be faster, if Geekbench is assumed and the claimed 41% improvement applies in that case, and the GPU would be better too. So overall more like a side grade (newer mid range vs older high end chip) and in that case, the F7 would have to bring either a lower price or other more impressive improvements to be worthwhile compared to F6.

                        -Apu with old Vega 11 they go used for as cheap as $50
                        -Apu with Vega 7/8 under $200 used and around $200-300 new
                        -Apu with Rdna 660/760M around $300-400 or get steam deck.

                            Last phrase from the article. D8400 not so special if only can take on a bit of 7+ gen 3 but the 7+ gen 3 competition was D8300U so for D8400 to chine must perform a lot better then upcoming something SD 7+ gen 4 maybe ?`Like 7+ Gen 3 come in spring of 2024

                            Also it really matters about what this D8300 land in Poco phones either X Pro or F
                            If it be F and release January then F have taken over X series time of release spot of January as F series is releasing in May usually or June

                            Where as Poco series F is flagship and X is middle class and then there is like C and M series for budget class. If the Poco brand series lineup top price end around 600 euro then you should get the picture

                            As X6 Pro had D8300U and year have passed so time to have X7 Pro come out and then have D8400 in it as it would make more sense and nothing to speculate with F series that is spring more to summer release schedule.

If you have Dimensity 8300 phone it is powerful enough for every game in play store and you can use it for a few more years also way faster than my Dimensity 700 which is my main phone now. You can have 2 devices like me, a phone for call/sms and a laptop for gaming.

Which was released in 2018. No current Gen/Year 2024 gaming laptop can be bought in this price point.

                                  have reliable components (display/wifi card/ram/ssd) and can run games without being plugged into the wall socket or consuming only as much power as your phone would. None, nothing can do that.

                                  Also, if someone has a choice between spending the miney either on a phone upgrade or a laptop (even if the laptop is cheap/used/refurbished). The laptop can't replace the phone for any and everything a phone does, calls, sms, you get the idea. The phone is the clear economical choice.

                                  You seem to confuse what is economically possible vs what is better for gaming.

                                  Understand what purchasing power and purchasing ability is.

If you are planning to buy an 8 Elite for gaming or emulator I suggest you don't, you'd better buy a gaming laptop. Also my friend, not all gaming laptops have more than 150W, my gaming laptop is only 120W.
