Anonymous, 22 Jan 2025I've been seeing a lot of mixed feedback over HyperOS ... moreI've been using Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra 512GB version since 2021 November (imported brand new unit to Europe from China for 880e in total), unlocked bootloader and been using with Xiaomi.eu software.
So from my personal experience - MIUI by xiaomi.eu was smooth, really better then the global software that I had in my previous Xiaomi Flagships. Waited a bit to update to Hyper OS (as there seemed to be bugs in the early version, as this was not global software), but did an update about a month ago, so from my experience - HYPER OS is smoother and better optimized, getting a bit better battery life also. No cons or downsides from my point of view as a user.

I do think, that Xiaomi Ultra devices are worth every penny, BUT ONLY if they are cheaper by 300-400euro than lets say Samsung Ultra devices, as the software optimization was always an issue on Xiaomi devices. It's getting better year by year, but they don't really bother too much with software stuff. :)

Will wait for Xiaomi 15 Ultra and other flagships with 3nm processors and will pick one for further use. Xiaomi 11 Ultra was a truly great flagship device, which is enjoyable till this time for a "power user", and for 880euro (Samsung Ultra alternative with 512GB was around 1300euro) it is an unbelievable bargain.

I've never used it personally but I wouldn't be surprised if it's necessary to factory reset after major firmware updates to avoid issues.

Calling their firmware 'HyperOS' was a smart move though; clever branding. That in itself, perhaps coupled with some sped up animations might, hypothetically speaking, make their software seem snappier regardless of whether the code is leaner, smarter or cleaner. I'm curious as to whether it actually is.

One things for sure, the download size of their firmwares has quadrupled in recent years, that's probably not a good thing.

But don't say anything bad about Xiaomi. It's true xiaomi has gone down the looser path of Samsung recently but soon they will realize this and they will go back to their roots and become winners again. If xiaomi stay true to their roots and listen to their customers they shall succeed.

The software runs super smooth, the screen is best in class, speakers are good, and back camera is a beast. It can compete with most flagships a year later.

That said, it would be great if Vivo & Oppo released their Chinese phones globally.

I have a OnePlus 9, upgraded to Android 14, and it is still using the original apn-conf file from mid 2021, instead of the updated one from the Android official source code.

So I'm stuck with no VoLTE nor VoWiFi support on most second tier Spanish carriers. Unlike Samsung or Xiaomi devices, which are property updated.

[deleted post]And did you delete some system apps or disabled them? (ADB commands?)Or restricted permissions on some system apps? It is strange that you have it on 2 phones. So a bad backup could also be the problem?

My M6 Pro says Global Edition on the Box, and my 13T Pro is the EEA (European) version. I was never being stupid, to install a false region ROM onto both phones, ever. But the correct ROM simply doesn't install - and i feel being tricked, played by Xiaomi, for real.

You simply have no clue, no knowledge, no idea. I've been using custom roms always on my Redmi Note 3 Pro, so you can't tell me B$. It's always the same here, when you DL the official, latest HyperOS 2.0.9.0 from Xiaomi Servers, my 13T Pro says, its an un-official ROM, and you can't install it, period. Yes, it's the EEA release, for EU region. Same issues with the cheapskate M6 Pro - it doesn't get anymore OTA updates after 1.0.7.0, global ROM here. And my 13T Pro is stuck on HyperOS 1.0.8.0 - so stop the B$.

I do not understand why people buy Xiaomi Ultra phones. Xiaomi Ultra phones are garbage. Huawei, Vivo and OPPO is much better in terms of software and hardware experience. Xiaomi is a cheap budget friendly brand with horrible software performance. There are some people who claims "Xiaomi Hyper OS is awesome!!!". These guys are not telling the truth. Hyper OS is still Android.
