NoOne75, 24 Dec 2024Sorry, you don't read 1) properly 2) don't unders... moreWhy is Xiaomi such a mess these days? You get the latest, official avialable ROM for exactly your phone - and then the shitty critter Updater says, it's an unofficial ROM, you can't update? Well, that was exactly the reason, i've had enough with the cheapskate MIUI Cr@p into 2019 - and used happily Pixel Experience for ages on my Note 8, Note 9 Pro...because it was running smooth & flawlessly. Xiaomi Software Support into End of 2024 - if it doesn't come via OTA, the user is being fcked! Well, it's enough. Wasted >1k during the past 8 months for 2 phones, and none of them is updating via OTA WiFi properly. It's a freak show. Software Support is PITA from Xiaomi, and still gives you friggin Ads, too. Even all is disabled inside the OS. Samsung, and other brands are all worlds better. Xiaomi does have fine Hardware for the asking price, but all the rest is PITA. As long, as Xiaomi doesn't provide proper OTA updates monthly, it sucks. Not worth a single EUR. Samsung does it.

I mean i dont really care either but a good ultrawide leads to good zoom range consistency so you can feel comfortable with any lens.

And 4) furtherway, they provide updates, but you can't install them - because their very own, Xiaomi-based Updater tool refuses to install the correct, updated ROM! That's a shit show from Poco/Xiaomi, and does have nothing to-do with buy a 14T for faster updates, for real! And with my 13T Pro, it's exactly the same. 14T is the 13T sucessor, does have too much Ai things going on, at least on camera, and only a small 1/1.56" Sensor, go figure. No hard feelings. Merry Xmas! :-)

I think Huawei is the only brand which still cares and loves ultrawide angle cams.

JN5? yeowzers, is this year officially the death of the UW cam? lol the iPhone 16 pro's UW cam sucks, the Pixel 9 Pro's one sucks at night, the Vivo/Oppo Pros still use a JN1/JN5, the Find X7 Ultra downgraded to a LYT-700, which although not bad, wasn't exactly great either due to the lack of sharpness, the noise control and colors were nice but wow detail retrieval was bad. And the X100 ultra's UW cam was horrendous at night and mid during the day. The 14 Ultra's UW cam is great due to being Ultrawide but bad cus its noise at night was terrible.
The zoom cams are getting loads of love but now the UW cams are starting to get forgotten. The X200 Ultra might save everything with its UW cam but if it's more than 18 mm then would that really be an ultrawide cam?

I have had used Xiaomi since the Redmi Note 3 Pro - and i must nowadays say, good to great hardware - but one of the biggest scams, ever!
The reason is that - my M6 Pro, got from September to October every 4 weeks an update,
now still stuck on 1.0.7.0 HyperOS, since 2 months, no more updates - 1.0.9.0 wasn't released as OTA, thanks to some freak show at Xiaomi for this, and manually DL it via Miui rom org homepage doesn't work out - it always does say: it's not a ledgit ROM, can't verify ROM!
And since last night, already 1.0.10.0 is being published, but not avialable. The same issues with my 13T Pro - stuck on 1.0.8.0 HyperOS, and not getting any updates here via WiFi into germany. Thanks for a big sucking, lacking OTA support, Xiaomi! That's exactly, why you'll never be the No. #1 with Android, only 4 Android Updates at best, via Samsung work phone, every update comes at least once a month, every updates goes OTA, every update goes flaw-less-ly, and Samsung approved, granted 7 years of Update support, and 7 Android versions - eat this, Xiaomi!
I am getting a Samsung, Vivo or Motorola into 2025 - no more, longer supporting this Xiaomi cr@p, especially with stupid ads, which are still being shown, even you've got disabled everything into HyperOS 1.x! That sucks big time, too!
