henry, 05 Jan 2025esim is a must, pleaseI also thought so, but now I really prefer a sim slot instead. With esim if your phone breaks all the esim plans are gone, also you can't easily move them to another phone if needed. It's much more convenient to buy an esim adapter like 5ber or smth, put it in the spare sim slot and have all the conveniences of Esim without all the inconveniences.

If sensor size behind the lens is just as important as the Zeiss glass, as we know in the DSLR world, I hope they continue to push toward 1/1.5 and larger sensors for all lenses in the main module. Almost all the ultrawides are sales with a less-efficient 1/2.75 sensor throughout the X range, all except for the x100ultra which has a 1/2.0 nicer sensor. I would have a hard time comparing the results for fine specifications like this, but it would be nice to see it increasing uniformly and positively over time and not going by the wayside. The Vivo Fold , with the same nicer sensors if possible, would make for such a great fun camera machine.

Inedian, 27 Dec 2024I care about end result here and X90 Pro+ outshines Mi 11 U... moreImagine if they instead used an Exmor T version of the LYT-818 as well. That would be so good. A 1/1.28"-type Exmor T sensor with a 35mm focal length and 10-step variable focal aperture would be hard to beat. Even though 1"-type sensors are better, there's no way to put a 35mm focal length in a reasonable amount of space with them, and the LYT-818 is already better than the LYT-900 when it comes to dynamic range. An Exmor T version would make its resolved detail much closer to the LYT-900 as well, which would be amazing to see with all of this included.

Worth buying a used x100 U just in case the x200U doesn't deliver ? If I can get the x100 U for a decent price used. Or you guys think the x200 U will definitely be the undisputed camera king ?

It has has stronger processing and also better details not because of processing, but because of bigger sensor, and 12S Ultra also beats Mi 11 Ultra detail wise looking comparisons.

LYT-818 with 35mm lens is something i like on paper.

The only way you can make a 1:1 comparison is if you compared the Mi 11 Ultra to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and even then, it'd not be much fruitful considering the fact that the 12S Ultra had the Leica partnership and had a tweaked color science

LYT-818 at 35mm will be better detail than LYT-900 cropped from 23mm to 35mm, so that might work and maybe we have a winner for next year, especially because of massive UW, but Pura 80 Ultra with even bigger telephoto is also coming.

Like compared to the X200 Pro the X100 Ultra is natural but compared to the X100 Pro the X100 Ultra was better sometimes and worse in terms of natural-ness. Overall the X100 Ultra was better tho.

It seems that the x100 U is closer to "reality" and provides better details when you start paying attention to the zoomed in pics. At least that's what some YouTube comparisons are showing. I don't own either of these devices so I could test myself

Anonymous, 26 Dec 2024I just have my doubts if it will provide the same level of ... moreIt's just a different processing pipeline they went with for the X200 Pro, don't forget that the X100 Ultra and the X100 Pro themselves have quite processing. I'm not defending the use of a 1/1.28" sensor but I'm just saying they seem to have been going for a more artificial look with the X200 Pro and you can just sense it with ALL the cameras, everything looks more artificial.

Anyways, the main saving grace for the Ultra will be the fact that the main lens is gonna be 35 mm, due to that, less processing will be required to get a "good" image. I'd say a 1/1.28" 35 mm cam is more akin to a 1/1.12" 24 mm cam like the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. And I personally can't really say if there's much of a difference between a 1/1.12" sensor and a 1" sensor, ofc a 1" will be better but don't forget this is Vivo, they're the kings of using the latest tech and processing well and with the new imaging chip im pretty sure this'll be a banger.

I'm checking out youtube comparisons and it seems like the LYT 900 has better details and the Lyt 818 has that " plastic" tone going on... looks like they tried to compensate the decrease in size by adding more AI/processing in the X200 series.
