Phones are already plenty fast, I would rather manufacturers focused more on efficiency but that doesn't sell sadly.
Can't even blame them, their job is to make money, but consumers don't think when buying these days.

These high numbers only matter for games, and even then only most demanding games will benefit from it.

Case and point, Intel was hitting 6.2GHz while AMD was hitting 5.7GHz yet AMD was on par.

anyways, "only" crossing the 4 ghz threshold won't do em any good, i fear. The 8 Elite is already ahead with a 4.32 ghz clock speed, in both actual speed and clocks. So I think unless this new core is a superb leap over the previous gen, it won't be anything huge.
Pretty sure it'll destroy the A18 Pro and i'm so excited for that. Android chips are supremely powerful now and the efficiency gains can easily be seen in the immense battery life of phones nowadays. Just 4 short years ago iPhones looked like they were a decade ahead of android in terms of videography, battery life and performance. But in real life scenarios android's pulling ahead. The only pain point is the fact that developers STILL mostly optimize for iPhones so even if 2 phones have the same amount of power, iPhones will pull ahead in some games and stuff. It's sad but it is what it is.
Anyways, Mediatek's main target should be making sure new and old apps ALWAYS have the BEST support! They have enough power now, and making sure games have the same settings as the snapdragon counterparts or making sure that all apps work in the same way is the next step.

If I remember it correctly there was previous rumor about Google Tensor G6 being on N3P as well and uses one X930 and 6 A730s... Another reason to believe Google has hired some people from Mediatek.

All this things to show benchmark numbers for Chinese brands to exhibit during the announcement of their phones.
So useless .. No need to pass 3.0 GHz .

Utter nonsense again
DCS is just espousing implausible conjectures on the Weibo discussion platform.
It has as much validity as if posted by York or Yext, not one of the three has been in contact with /provided facts from Mediatek.
I did spot this story yesterday which was reported by another 'publisher' who has deleted it
On close inspection that reported article of DCS tip lasted a few hours before being pulled due to the fault ladened whatever.

Sounds good. Hopefully the X930 will be able to match the A18‘s big cores at least, with big caches it should be possible.

And yet QC is rumored to release an updatw to the 8 Elite early already!
This battle of the titans is heating up!!
Beyond the core SoC is the chipset & codecs supported!

Always excited seeing what Mediatek is bringing at the high end, but not many phones would use this. Mediatek will always be known as laggy Helio G85 chip

2025 and still waiting for this kind of SoC in thin, light and cheap laptops like Chromebooks. For a phone this is overkill, more suitable for gaming phone.
