          It’s on Samsung. Apple uses Samsung panel that were only used on S Ultra phones until the S24. So even Samsung could only put that panel on their top end phone. Maybe it’s simply because Samsung finally can make more of it now. Apple sells a lot more iPhones that any Android manufacturer. Any components used on an iPhone has to be able to be made in large volume by the manufacturer.

              And it’s not $200.

              Apple uses Samsung LTPO panels that are only used in flagship Samsung phones. Samsung just started using that panel on the regular Galaxy S starting with the S24. It makes sense that Apple then start using it in their regular iPhone next year.

                LMAO 120hz refresh rates are STILl being talked about as 'high refresh rates' in late 2024 LMAO!

Moving from a Pixel 4a 5G to the 8 Pro, I thought I'd mostly be benefitting from the increased PPI. That was nice, but I did end up noticing the 120 Hz more than I thought I would, especially in scrolling. But as someone with a 240Hz monitor, I can say that it's nowhere close to the benefit of high refresh rate on a PC. If Apple is saving money by sticking with 60Hz on the non-Pro models, I can't begrudge them for it this time. (Admittedly I don't play mobile games, but neither should you.)

I do not game, nor do i waste half of my life on my phone, so for me is nothing but gimmiks, and i assume i am not the only one? If you care about battery life as mich as i do, you probably know that a 120 hz display eats more battery then a regular one, and that by a good margin, right? I deactivated my phone's 90hz, because of it, and 90hz really does not eat that much in comparison to 120, but well, i just didn't like it even if it was verry little.

I just can't afford the pro iphones but i could afford a base iphone if i stretched a little. But the only thing keeping me from doing that is the 60Hz display. I just can't go back to it. I remember when Samsung put 120Hz display on A52a 5g, i was so excited and that thing alone made me buy it.

                      So stop thinking it's useless. For some of us it's as important as like battery life

                            Any phone north of 600$ should have 120Hz VRR screen, if someone doesn't care or want slightly more battery they can turn it off. Simple as that. There is zero reason the base iphone comes with 60Hz for several years, other than gatekeeping and protecting the sales of more expensive iphones.
                            Now argue till next year 😂😑

Their ground low ethics and company politics, are just to much, for someone that uses his brain, to support them.                                         Samsung just trickled down their LTPO panels down to regular Galaxy S with the S24. Previously it was only on the Ultra models. That panel is not cheap nor commonplace, even in Android land.
