vik457, 02 Jan 2025Just stop it with dollar store ultrawidesI'm using a budget phone with only one camera at the back (coupled with a 2MP depth sensor, but that doesn't count lol)

When taking photos, I rarely ever felt the need of a more wider FoV. Rather I almost always crop to 2x zoom from the main camera. So yeah I appreciate Realme has put more emphasis on the zoom camera here.

The only purpose of ultrawides in my daily life would be to take stabilized videos (i.e. take a cropped video with EIS from the ultrawide).

And at the same time the S25 two times more expensive will have the same 50mp camera from 3 years ago...LOL

It seems like the IMX882 is being used exclusively for telephoto by Vivo, OnePlus, and Realme; especially the triple prism design.

Nice work. (Vivo uses a periscope on the x200, but it's an ordinary Persicope, not a 3 prism one.)

Realme has good hardware but their company policy sucks because they don't allow the user to unlock the bootloader by default like what Xiaomi does. Or has anybody who bought a Realme device recently actually managed to root that piece of e-trash without actually resorting to a jailbreak?
