Dex for PC is not supported by One UI 7. Why? I'm using it! Next reason to have Samsung is out!!!

thirteen, 14 hours agoThe OnePlus 13 has an 11% larger battery than the OnePlus 1... moreVideo playback is one of the few things where the 8 Elite made quite big improvements, hence why I said that the battery seemed to not make much of a difference. Maybe it's just OnePlus not delivering, that's true.
I would also like to see new tech in the S25 Ultra, but for now, the new battery tech seems to not quite be there yet. It can improve things, but so can optimizations for the old tech, be it changes to the charging or simply battery thermals. Honestly, the S25 Ultra may be the only new phone that actually showcases how much the Snapdragon 8 Elite actually benefits battery life if it does keep everything more or less the same. My S23 Ultra battery life was great at the beginning so I'm not really scared about it not being good yet again

xPandamon, 15 hours agoThe OnePlus 13 review is one of the only ones where we can ... moreThe OnePlus 13 has an 11% larger battery than the OnePlus 12 and got a 7.3% increase in battery life on GSMArena's battery test. I mean sure, the call and web browsing tests were practically identical, but there was a huge 25.8% improvement in video playback, and an 8.8% increase in gaming endurance. At this point, you can't just assume that SD 8 Elite is solely responsible for the huge increase in video playback because if you compare the battery life of the ROG 8 Pro and 9 Pro, you'll see that the 9 Pro had huge increases in all departments. This shows that it is more of an issue with OnePlus' optimizations that made call duration and web browsing time stagnate instead of improve.
Also, would you rather:
A. Get a phone with the newest commercial battery technology, and a larger capacity that has a shot at better optimizations for even better battery life
B. Get a phone rather that remains on the same old battery technology and capacity as phones have from 5 years ago
I can't believe there's someone out there who isn't impressed by the larger capacities brought by innovation. It's like defending Samsung for using the same old battery technology for 6 years straight even after their competitors have moved on and innovated

It is practically identical to the OnePlus 12 despite having a bigger battery. That's my issue and why I think the debate is stupid; Clearly the new batteries look bigger but don't provide that big of a difference in battery life yet. For some phones, yes, but not all. It does not seem like the new tech is holding up to the hype. We mostly see improvements for video streaming battery life and that is pretty much just the Snapdragon 8 Elite's fault, not the batteries.

How many more articles about what to expect for the S25 release??. I’m sure last month there was one here… and people are expecting literally nothing, cuz Samsung isn’t bringing anything that may make feel people expectant about something.

xPandamon, 07 Jan 2025Silicon-carbon is not a miracle solution. For now, they are... moreOppo, Vivo, Honor and Xiaomi all have silicon carbon batteries in their 2025 flagship phones. Samsung used to be the main innovator for Android. Now they're literally behind their Chinese competitors in the battery department. That's disappointing. I wasn't asking for Samsung to perform a miracle solution. I was just expecting them to not get left behind like that.

Still though, I'm talking about the standard flagship models and they definitely could have improved them a bit but basically none of them did (hardware wise). Xiaomi could have included a periscope for example on the Xiaomi 15 or at least used a better telephoto sensor) . There is space for one coz Vivo did it on the x200 pro mini. Vivo could have upgraded the main sensor on the x200 but it's basically the same as the x100/x100s. Oppo actually downgraded the main sensor from the find X7). Samsung could have improved either the telephoto or the main sensor on the s25

Nope, not AliExpress. TradingShenzen is a trusted website to order China only devices from with little to no mark up and 1 year warranty.
"Another thing is a longer software support which IS important to many people, but that wont matter for people buying Chinese brands, because most of them are buying a new phone in a very short period of time like 6 months up to 1 year, maximum is 2 years."
Why would I, or anybody who bought a chinese phone need to get a new one just because it has ran out of software updates, if the hardware still lasts? There is no reason to.

"The small Galaxy S25 is getting another upgrade – 12GB of RAM, finally! It was the last of Samsung’s flagships stuck on 8GB, even the Z Flip6 had 12GB."
The Z Flip6 is $50 more than the S24+, so that's not surprising at all.

lol, 07 Jan 20257 years of support but the dumbass screen will have green, ... moresamsung service centers tends to be a jerk to customers. when their phone displays suffers from pink or green line after update, even users hasn't dropped the device. they are intepreting as customers' fault. and they have to tell you to charge them half of the phone's price. even vivo offers cheaper or even free screen replacement for their flagship X series. not sure about other brands.

DarlingYext, 07 Jan 2025Same phone with small battery, and short battery health, an... moreSame comment on every western brand thread. Lol. Yes. We got it. They are all greedy companies which wants a profit. Mindblowing. Good thing we have a choice in Chinese offerings. For example a Vivo X200 mini is much better then this S25 in every possible thing, but two.
One thing is availability. Samsung and for example Apple are available everywhere, Vivo is not. Vivo is better, but how can you buy it? Oh i know. From AliExpress right. Sorry but that's not the way i or anyone closest to us buying the products, especially not the expensive ones like a smartphone. Silicon mask for a phone, sure, thats cheap and even if i got scewed over i know i didnt pay too much.
Another thing is a longer software support which IS important to many people, but that wont matter for people buying Chinese brands, because most of them are buying a new phone in a very short period of time like 6 months up to 1 year, maximum is 2 years.
But hey. At least we have a choice. Right.
As long we have a choice im happy. I do prefer a smaller footprint of the phone, but companies are not leaving many choices for people like me or my wife. S25 is a solid representative of a more compact phone and a solid performer. It's not the best out there that's for sure. My wife is already eying on that model as her Galaxy S20 (865G version) is showing a battery wear and it can't recieve updates anymore. What new phone would you suggest instead of S25 if you wanna go "as compact as it can" route?
Thanks.

But just like Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi should work with Sony to develop better sensors every two years. They should one sensor for two years and later bring that sensor to flagship killers like iQOO12/13/ Poco F7 Ultra/OnePlus12/13 and so on.
