i went to the nokia flegship store in new york yesteday and i was very disappointed from the n96
it is completely now what i expected
the keypad is not comfortable, the fone is strangely too big to your palm unless ur a huge 7.0 foot person
my advice, it doesnt worth 500 bucks there are better phones today.

hmm... i think $800 is the most reasonable price for a multimedia monster. For $900, i'd rather buy a laptop.

I had this, the build quality and the sluggish OS made me cry. It was so poor, stick with your N95-4, it's a lot better. This is a joke.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2008this is one funny fanboys post. LOL. i believe the x1 tha... morebut you have to remember that it's not only the camera and memory that makes a phone. Some of the Xperia's X1 strong points: windows mobile OS, ultra-wide screen display, qwerty keypad, original design and a far better build. It's really an unfaiar comparison since they target different market segments. They are only similar in the sense that they are both flagship handsets.

now, it's nokia N96 it's too overpricing than Sony Ericcson Xperia X1 ...
the design not so good, looks like the N81, not a touch screen like Xperia X1, just 5MP camera, a minor changes of UI. and double storage (16 GB) and i think it's not Worth it to get this phone.. too expensive and over priced.

i don think N96 ever left the proto stage, the new chipset really screwed nokia over...it was the cause of delay and all the problems on the N96 are cause of the new components,
Lower graphics performance, video hardly looks to be 30 frames, slightly upgraded specs from N95 8GB, firmware problems, navi wheel disabled...
its amazing to see how much nokia screwed the Best Nseries phone up, the N85 outdo's the N96 in every way! thats pretty weird to have a phone thats cheaper and has best specs that the Flagship.
FM transmitter, OLED Display, Navi Wheel ON! better video recording, better flash...cheaper....N85???

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2008Dude... if you think that's expensive, just check the Moto ... moreExcept when one carries a $900 N96, most others may think such is an N81 or whatever dozens of other slide phones by the same company.
Owners of Aura simply want the "status" that comes with the phone, which means no-one else (except the knock-off versions likely from China) will be able to make a similar looking phone.
Look at how many years it took the almighty brand to copy the design of V70/V80/V3...

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2008first!!!!!!!!!!! nokia n96 sucksI am the guy responsible who wrote the first comment (btw its nice being the first one to write a comment :-) ).
neways, i may have offended a few of the nokia nerds by saying the n96 sucks but i have my reasons. Many reviewers confirm it is overpriced, cheap plastic and the n85 (which is cheaper) is infact better. Not only this, since february I was very eager to buy the n96. I wasted over half a year waiting for this piece of junk to come out and i have been very dissapointed.
My sights are aiming for the 5800, but the n-series touch will be announced soon. Will that take 8 months to come out and will that be outdated when it does arrive on the market?
what do i do? maybe the n96 doesnt such, maybe nokia as a whole SUCKS!
