Samsung flagships are already the slimmest flagships on the market. So, it was something else their upgrades are overdue

5mm is the slim goal, Samsung had a slim variant in 2002 and it was 3mm only. It wasn't a smartphone but still.

Slim with somewhet ultra camera and smaller battery and with a price tag that can get you s24 ultra. I think i would like to get a second s24 ultra than going for the slim version. Btw, will it not have durability issues like the iphones once did like they bent under a small force?

They need to eliminate completely any camera protuberance, for this you need probably to make it a big larger, like at least 6.5 inch and of course reduce battery. Also you need regular camera + wide. Also the bezels have to be at maximum available slimness.
It needs to be the ultimate minimalistic phone, physical design wise.
PS: they f*cked up already by not changing the layout for the S25 line, as iphone will change yhem for sure in sept. Samsung again a follower and not a preemptive leader.

Thin is good, but I have small hands and would love a screen 6.1" or smaller - none of the new phones interest me as they're so wide they require two hands to operate.

DeepIn2U, 13 Jan 2025Camera bu.ps are in NO WAY relavent to the quality of lense... moreLarger lens and sensors requires a longer distance from the lens to the sensor resulting in a larger camera bump. You'll be limited to smaller camera hardware if the camera bump is small and a less detailed photo as a result. Image processing can only do so much with limited information.

The camera bumps in smartphones is eother for ahock protection or for adding new lenses (in rare cases) .
Every phone drop video shows the camera bump and camera lenses are THE LAST to get any shatter or any damage regardless of make and model of the phone for over a decade. U just have never paid attention.
