Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim runs Geekbench, disappoints

09 January 2025
Hopefully it's just a fluke due to the prototype nature of the device being tested.

Meh, this doesn't matter. The ones who are paying attention to benchmarks are gamers, and gamers are not the target customer of slim phones. Meanwhile, having an SD8 Elite means the phone has access to flagship ISP, neural engine, and the latest modem (which Qualcomm gatekeep from their lower chips).

If you're after high benchmarks and bought this phone, it's on you.

I have to wonder how many people will actually go anywhere near max scores for day to day use. I use my phone for calls, emails, photos. I dont play games and don't think any apps I use (social media) use near the middle range.
OR IS IT JUST ME THAT WANTS A SLIM PHONE to make calls emails and texts and occasionally a yotuve video or music in spotify

"...but we do usually caution you not to take benchmark scores by prototype devices very seriously."

So why cover the story in the first enough? Desperate for that juicy SEO cheque, are you?

Nobody's surprised when samsung is basically an apple copycat trying to compete against the iPhone 17 air on to of that nobody even wants a slimmer phone with probably less battery

                  To nobody’s surprise…

DomtheCuber, 12 hours agoHmm… it’s almost like this is a stupid idea for a phone con... moreWe just got new batteries that help with good battery life and thermals in phones do not correlate to thickness. Since the screen is used for cooling, a big screen actually helps with it way more than having a thick phone

NOBODY ask for thinner phone.. the trend going forward is bigger battery capacity with the same form factor or perhaps SMALLER chassis.. NOT THINNER..

Hmm… it’s almost like this is a stupid idea for a phone considering thickness is the dimension that has both the least impact on how you use your phone day to day and the worst performance and battery hit when you make it too small

would they use curved screens again?

This S25 Slim will flop. Thin phone meaning smaller battery and more prone to heating issues due to powerful chipset.

Slim should be something aling mate xt unfold though, 7mm + case seems unnoticeable
