China has developed their mobile industry to the point where their top flagships are better value now than iPhones and more so in their home country. No wonder Apple is declining as well as Samsung there. This trend will be global in a not so distant future unless Apple or Samsung wake Up.

They both compete in that premium part of the market. And that's why the US government banned and sanctioned Huawei.

... moreHuawei lost access to Google but still made it to number 1 sales ahead of Samsung.
It really wasn't losing access to Google that was the problem, it was losing access to Kirin chipsets and the 5G modem in their phones due to sanctions placed by the US. The Qualcomm chips they were forced to purchase at a premium to put in their phones lacked 5G and many consumers didn't like that.
Their sales are picking up again because they are producing Kirin chipsets with 5G with or without Google services.

Without Android and Google the sales of chinese brand outside China would go down to zero.
Just see Huawei as a example. It so sad to see Huawei these days, even with all government subsidies and material resources, huawei still make a crippled phone with mediocre UI. Chinese buy Huawei never because of the technology, its more because of sympathy. The phone itself is truly mediocre.

tyu, 12 Jan 2025China loves domestic companies Huawei Huawei Huawei Huawei ... moreBecause pressure from the government. You know that Tri fold phone? Nobody likes it. But the government were forcing middle up Chinese people to buy it as a show of patriotism. The Chinese were making fun of that phone in their social media as it's unreliable and unpractical .
The propaganda is successful though, as China managed to trick western media as if the tri fold Huawei phone was great.

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2025The fact that China dont Apple till today, is enough proof ... moreChina dose not need Apple.
Apple have very small market share in China. its the other way around. All the components in Apple are made by Chinese OEM like OmiVision for example. IF Apple leaves, there is no lose. all the Chinese ODM can switch and sell to other companies. If China would ban apple like the US did to Huawei, Apple will turn into a boutique selling real apples in couple of months.
