iPhone shipments in China saw a sharp decline in December 2024

The prospects for 2025 aren't great either.

Who was expecting 240M?

O_o?

Apple has had pretty much stable sales for over 5 years around 215M, expecting 15% more is unrealistic.

"With rumors suggesting the new iPhone 17 series will exclusively rely on eSIM with no physical SIM support, Ming-Chi Kuo believes the Chinese market won't respond well. Not all carriers in the country offer eSIM support, so it will be a challenge for some users."

Practically Apple is giving up near all the markets since not all uses eSIM and not all wants eSIM.

the huawei ban was like a gift to apple, untill huawei returned and got back what the usa took from it, their phones might not be that fast as their competitors, but they're on the level of the pixel and they're selling well in china

All iPhone/Samsung fans write and live under the articles about Chinese phones to make sense of their lives, since their favorite companies have been offering them the same thing for about 5 years, only the name has changed. Well, we already know the rest of the story... How ironic that Apple and Samsung are having the same problem these days!!! But they still have time to fix it.

Apple products are overpriced, offer minimal innovation in their new interations, and they help governments spy on you. Global consumers are more aware of this, they have matured past the "Apple products as status symbol" thinking, and would rather use another brand.

So, does U.S. companies that has developed two most popular OS, iOS and Android. The different is, Huawei Harmony OS looks crippled and mediocre compared to Android, and i am happy about this

"You have no clue of what China can do."

China can make a crippled phone with mediocre OS, and old tech chipset, with worthless App Gallery as a bonus. Thats what China can do.

                    Any more question?

but my friend don't listen to me or others, just choose whichever YOU think is best in terms of cameras/feel, etc. I'm happy with curved screens and you aren't, that's a huge red flag on the X200 Pro for you then. So don't worry too much about outside opinions cus it's gonna be you using the phone in the end.

Also, dang Xiaomi really normie-fied their cameras this year ig, saw some samples and the processing is absolutely generic, no style or substance. Nice shots but not artistic like past Xiaomis with Leica branding. And yeah, for people photos i find Oppo/Vivo to be vastly superior to the rest.

China dont ban apple, because china need Apple. End of story.

iPhones are unaffordable and not vfm in most of the markets except where there are automatic upgrade without having to pay huge upfront cost. Those who want iPhones might consider its low end variants but eventually they will compare it with the Android offerings as well. But Android also getting stale with Samsung is also playing Apple by increasing the prices ridiculously. Their foldable ones are not attracting the mass but at least they are offering a different product other than slab phones. Chinese market has many premium mobiles like Huawei, Honor, One Plus, Xiaomi, Redmi etc…which are offering almost same set of features or even far better than iPhones. No wonder the iPhone sales are down. If world lifts ban on Huawei and Honor (Oneplus, Xiaomi) products, iPhone sales will nose dive.

Thats because everyone is bored of boring phones. Reminds me of 2011 when Blackberry refused to make a touch screen BB Bold phone for 2-3 years....and everyone jumped ship to iPhone over night. I think everyone bought an iPhone 4s to begin their iPhone career after having numerous non touch screen Bolds.....,Of course, after everyone switch to iPhone...Blackberry finally makes a touch screen Bold......too late.........lol

Was planning to get the Xiaomi 15 on Christmas eve but they cancelled the deal suddenly. The government has since announced a national subsidy deal though so will wait for that (they haven't said exactly said when it will start though but it's supposed to be soon as it's already been talked about in the media). No point in paying more now with this deal coming shortly. Listening to you and others though I'm tempted to get the Vivo x200pro instead but it would be a bit of a sacrifice in terms of bulk and the curved screen. Downside to the Xiaomi 15 is the cameras are a bit average especially for people pics but it has a great in hand feel
