Android isn't the only operating system out there. Huawei had developed their own proprietary OS, WITHOUT android.

    jiyen235, 9 hours agooh dang that sounds awesome, which one did you settle for?I didn't get any yet coz. Was planning to get the Xiaomi 15 on Christmas eve but they cancelled the deal suddenly. The government has since announced a national subsidy deal though so will wait for that (they haven't said exactly said when it will start though but it's supposed to be soon as it's already been talked about in the media). No point in paying more now with this deal coming shortly. Listening to you and others though I'm tempted to get the Vivo x200pro instead but it would be a bit of a sacrifice in terms of bulk and the curved screen. Downside to the Xiaomi 15 is the cameras are a bit average especially for people pics but it has a great in hand feel

They all rely on TSMC to manufacture them. You're right though. I think China is depending less and less on US tech. I think Huawei has managed to build a phone with no US tech (Read it somewhere but not sure if it's accurate). Te US is also dependent on tech from other countries as well as most tech products now contain tech from multiple countries

                            Where I live in China queues were out the door in the Apple store in the local Apple store in China for parts of December. That was because the local provincial government had a 15% off all mobile phone campaign though so it made sense to take advantage of it to get more expensive phones. I bought the Xiaomi 15 and Oneplus 13 just before the campaign launched but then returned both to take advantage of the 15% discount. Unfortunately though they suddenly cancelled the deal before Christmas (was supposed to be until the end of December) and I didn't get around to repurchasing before that😂. There were a number of different provincial promotions like that but most offered 10% discounts. There is a national 15% state sponsored discount starting soon but it is only available for phones costing no more than 6000rmb so that will rule out most iphones, at least the pro variants. It's limited to a max of 500rmb too. This could further hurt iphone sales as there will be a 500rmb discount on phones under 6000rmb
