PetrovBG, 14 Jan 2025Nah, this would mostly impact standby times. I have removed... moreNot sure, tbh. If you have telemetry/ad services listeners, etc. those will fire up when the corresponding network activity is happening.. e.g. browsing, media streaming incoming,etc.. only the background spyware like location and mic/camera data collection services would impact standby times, imho.
So probably a good way to check it is if you can play an offline game. Turn off all radio and see gaming time. Then enable all radio and do the same..
If you have a way to sniff wifi traffic you might also catch what is going on background...
But it's pointless, we know what is happening, just there is no easy way to fix it

Xiaomi battery life used to be good. What has happened to them? Too many ads in their software..?

And this is with 6000mAh battery and a 4nm SoC? Embarrassing.
People who still think HyperOS to be good/great should get their heads checked.
Xiaomi literally makes Exynos look better.

Poor xiaomi they need 6000mah and a super efficient CPU to get trash battery results.

As everyone below already stressed - hyper os2 is the culprit here. Although reviews say the incredible overnight/idle drain is fixed, apparently there are lots of issues/bloat/ads/spyware which are not ok and cause excessive battery consumption. Adding bigger battery and different anode, charging times, etc. aren't really a solution.
Xiaomi should sit down and work on their software, if they want to gain more customers. All the flop with 14 series (incl T and Tpro), Poco 6 and now 7 series... Disaster, caused by overly proud software department

What I think is the issue here is Xiaomi's "optimisation". The software has to learn your usage patterns, right?

What I feared and mentioned in another article regarding Xiaomi and the hype surrounding the new battery tech is reality. Flashing with big battery sizes but not optimising your device is actually lying to your customers. They are told to think that they will have a superb battery performance but it isn't, especially not with this size of battery. It reminds me of a much older Galaxy M series device with an equally large battery that had the same disappointing performance. HyperOS was announced to be so much more efficient on all accounts (especially on the battery efficiency department) but it isn't. I feel like it's worse than MiUI of old. The same goes for other Chinese brands bragging about big batteries with new tech. When looking at my Nord 4 the battery performance isn't bad but certainly not mindbogglingly better than any other device with a more standard battery. Do Chinese brands have a new thing to brag about but not delivering it as advertised? It seem so...

I think this is possible for Xiaomi to optimise their devices for a good battery life!
It sucks! And Xiaomi must learn even newly novice company 'Realme' in this case.
What's the use of buying xiaomi's device cause I've been noticed that none of xiaomi phone has ever done well in battery area.

Since they're pushing more product in the market, their ability to make sure the software is optimized with all the products they release is also diminished greatly.
"Ok, these run fine. There's no need for further optimization and fine tuning everything for a affordable device. On to the next we go!"

Dang, goes to show how inefficient HyperOS is. This is what happens when you focus solely on pushing product quantity rather than quality. Smh Xiaomi 🤦♂️

It's pure disappointment . Other companies with 5000mah reach higher level of screen on time easily 😂
