Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim not releasing until May

14 January 2025
Wouldn't that be a disappointment?

I won't be surprised if Samsung first announced it in January, and then re-announced it for public sale in May. Sony did the same thing with the first three generations of Xperia 1.

Did you miss the part where they said 6.5mm thickness? Classic DarlingYext: st*pid western brands, give me 7500 mah when Chinese do it too.

Maybe if you turned your brain on you would realize how traffics work, and how not every phone has to be an exact photocopy of each other and instead choice is possible.

The S25 Slim reminds me of the Galaxy Alpha. It also had the exact screen size of the iPhone 6 that was rumored at the time, at 4.7 inch, and was thin and light and with an aluminum frame instead of plastic for the first time. And that one was also Samsung‘s panic response to rumors about Apple developing a thinner phone. Of course, while the Alpha was good, it was quickly overshadowed by the massive sales success of the iPhone 6. And now, the S25 Slim is a special model as well as a one off to compete with the rumored new thinner iPhone. It also has the exact same 6.6 inch screen size as the rumored iPhone. Difference this time though is that while the Alpha was slightly thinner than the iPhone 6, the iPhone is rumored to be significantly thinner than the S25 Slim at 5.5mm vs 6.5mm.

                          Alas, it won't be missed.

"The phone being slim means it is likely coming with a new silicon-carbon battery, which is lighter but has a fairly large capacity – probably around 5,000 mAh."

5000mAh would be fairly small for a Si/C battery, and very average otherwise.

"It will have a 6.6” AMOLED panel with over 1080p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate."

Now that would be truly disappointing, at that size, and for how expensive this will likely end up, 1440p should be a given.

Soon every second article about samsung 🤣
