Please check Samsung A8 from 2015 specifications regarding slimness (5.9 mm).
Was an excellent phone at that time.
Why to be impressed with both of this 10 years later?

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2025Samsung could've showcased their silicon carbide batte... moreAt this point, that is just a rumor. What is not a rumor is Samsung's prototype solid state batteries for use in wearables that will be commercialized next year. I believe that is ultimately where they are transitioning.

I'm not a scientist, but I don't see what's to prevent them from using SSBs in mobiles except whatever time they need to complete quality control.

I really don't understand the point of these devices. I would rather get a side mounted fingerprint sensor, extra camera, more battery or literally anything over making the phone slimmer. Better yet just put telephoto cameras on the base models instead of making the phones slimmer. I don't even care if they take away the ultrawides. I pinky promise.

Phones don't need to be slimmer. People already drop them all the time

So these aren't going to sell well, and then they will conclude that the market doesn't want slim phones. Why they even bother

                            This slimness discussion is pointless.
The thickest phone area is the camera bump/island/module, and vast majority of people protect their phone with cases anyway - only in that way is the back flush and the phone doesn't wobble. All this thinness is lost anyway. I would much rather have a flush, slightly more bulky back, with more internal space for 6000-7000 mAh battery, and a phone in a slim case.
The end result could be the same phone-in-case volume with better battery life.
As it is, it's a wasted space the cases fill anyway.

Its actually easy to re-label 3rd party SiCa battery just like many other chinese brand that use 3rd party parts for their phone.
