Problem need a solution, not an excuse.
OnePlus greenline scandal is huge problem. Many ex-OnePlus user has moved to Samsung and iPhone because of it. You can start from seeing the embarassing sales of OnePlus in 2024.

What is the experience like though? None of my Samsungs ever qualified for Samsung USA repairs because they had to be imported from Mexico to be able to be bootloader unlocked. I always read though that you have to send your phone in the mail to get fixed and they send it back, there is no way I would ever do that when I could just go to the nearest mall Apple store and get my phone repaired there with an iPhone.

If so, then why are they offering a monthly PAID* service that makes it "free" to replace damaged screens? Are they trying to get more money out of customers for no reason? I mean if their phones are so perfect, then this service is simply NOT NEEDED, and NO ONE should ever pay for it.

The article also literally shows *$8 - $18 that you'd have to pay for this service every month, thus making screen replacements essentially not free, and not $0.

But I've never had a Samsung... Apparently you're one of the lucky few without display problems, because Google gives 1.5 billion results if you search for Samsung display green line. Samsung apparently offers a paid repair service because they know how often their phones break. Brands that know they've produced quality products don't offer this "extra". 🤣

I personally never paid for screen repair, clearly because AMOLED screen on my Samsung has never gotten any problem for the last 5 years, which is good. Better than any OnePlus, with greenline scandal problem.
