Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro in the works with surprising chipset

Chipset is nice and all but you need 2 things in a rugged phone - durability and battery life. These phones should be used in tough situations - like working an industrial job or going camping/hiking/etc. You need it to survive regular drops, water, heat, scratches and to last as long as possible on battery.
Can't comment on the ruggedness part since my last XCover was a few generations back but this pathetic 4000mAh battery is a joke, no matter how efficient the chipset is. The phone is a brick already and nobody cares if it even becomes phat, so what's the excuse this time ? There are countless chinese rugged phones with 6000, 8000 or bigger batteries, why would you buy this one ? The battery needs to be at least 6000mAh, the more the better.
Also, it's 2025, stahp with the LCDs already, put a freakin OLED on it, if only to make some room for more battery - OLEDs are paper thin, unlike LCD which take 1-2 mm inside the phone.

PureOS, 17 Jan 2025U have 500 other models with OLED. This should stay with LC... moreNone with OLED, headphone jack and removable battery.
Why keep to LCD though? Aside from lack of potential for burn in (which in my experience is a non issue on the phones) they have no advantages.

For some reason Xcover phones and tabs are never released in India, I would love to get them for outdoor use.

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2025Did they even release an Xcover with a dumb sealed battery?... moreI'm not sure, it was never sold here, that's really one of the main problems with this model. But non-removable battery is acceptable if it's Si/c - from what i read, it should last 1600 cycles.

Well that's good, but it also needs:
Bigger and Si/c battery (Or at least removable).
Better market coverage.
3.5mm jack or at least internal dac to work with a passive usb adapter.

Better than nothing as long as they can make sure to keep the jack on the Galaxy X series instead of the A (Alpha) and the S (Super).

If it SD and it brings long software support, thats a win in my book.
It also means this wont be a rebadged A series device in the inside, like Samsung did with previous XCover devices.

That is near Exynos 2100 levels. Heck, Samsung could have gone with Exynos 1580 without issues too.
