This has NOTHING to Do with Innovation. Like stop being a ridiculous parrot!
Price vs Value IS THE KEY here!
iPhones are simply more expensive than the competition when it comes to value of what you get.
For years Apple has pretty much shipped THE same iPhone type of product with the same core apps and services for over a decade and quite frankly the freebies of Chinese Lunar New Years is getting boring and thin on what is enticing to the market.
Furthermore the mainland FIRST push from government and traditionally has always been by the populace has only swayed in the last 20yrs to USA products, glamour of fashion, music and basic flare as premium yet this social sentiment has signifantly reverted back to its original homeland 1st focus.
THAT is teh key differentiators here.
Over time you'll see "innovation" start to scale back as technology is NOT advancing at the pace we've been seeing here.
Real Innovations:
Silicon Carbon battery
Charging Speeds which have DROPPED since the new battery technology became available early 2024.
Implemntations of existing materials for foldable rigidity.
"tri-fold" [poorly named as ther is only 2 hinges that fold NOT 3!] has been in protoype stage for Hauwei and Phatom for 6yrs now.
As competition catches up value perception will shift and again PRICE will be a KEY deciding factor.
The Chinese OEMs have copied the UI icons and similar layout of iPhone for yeras now to appeal to local users. Again soon this will get boring or Apple will change the UI and soon the UX - user experience not just icons or bouncing quick UI from finger banging.
We're STILL stuck at 0-120-144hz as a common staple for ANY smartphone except gaming phones! WHY?! Uh-huh value and price!
The next innovation isn't simply AR or XR glasses ... it the INPUT not navigation and manipulation of the UI that must be innovated along with connections to a main core device that's portable. Soon the smartphone will be replaced by wrist based watch with a larger screen and much larger battery pack than we've seen.
OR Rollable screens .. opened when you need it closed when XR glass can suffic as you're MORE mobile with the latter especially through crowds.

This is not a surprise. Vivo tries to actually innovate unlike other stagnating brands
