Huge black bars and 30% on-screen content at best. Or even worse, video cropped to short vertical ratio. There should be just a few universal aspect ratios requirements in order to post excluding these dum vertical ratios.

LOL. So X/Twitter finally realizing the potential of Vine that they bought more than 10 years ago?
Anyway, vertical aspect ratio is the future. More and more people have smartphones as their first actual screen instead of a TV or even a PC monitor/laptop. China is way ahead of the curve here, already making a lot of serial drama with the vertical aspect ratio, chopped in bits to fit the burst consumption of mobile users.

Vertical video should be banned until users can actually point their phones in the right direction. A lot of world events will be badly done which is not good for posterity... :)

Elon be Eager to Enhance the Experience of Electronics.
...Yeah, that made little sense. What I meant to say was that Elon is doing what he can to make X popular again. I guess this shoots down the whole "Elon Musk is buying TikTok" rumor, unless he actually DOES make an offer within the next 90 days.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2025Ehy do people make vertical videos? Field of view is small ... moreBecause a lot of people don't even have a proper computer or laptop therefore they are used to portrait orientation.
The LG Wing was supposed to rectify this by having its main screen flip into a landscape position while still holding the phone portrait mode, but it never took off sadly.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2025Ehy do people make vertical videos? Field of view is small ... moreHave you watched anything on the YouTubes the last decade? It is so bad, people floods praise on the rare occasions people bothers to rotate the phone 90 degrees to get proper video. For instance that one video this weekend showing Elon's 100 million dollar spaceship fireworks display. That "spaceship" is the biggest government funded fraud since Ponzi did his thing. NASA believed Elon's lies that the "spaceship" would be operational last year. Now the mission to the moon is postponed indefinitely because of how Elon is burning through NASA's budget.

What? Only in the US? This is unacceptable, the entire world wants a vertical video feed on X. Why is it US exclusive? Absurd.

From all these "new developments", it seems like it was a monopolistic plan to shut down TikTok.
I'm glad it's alive!
