Why not save costs by changing the material used for the phone's body? Use plastic or ceramic.

Jam, 23 Jan 2025I want my freakin headphones jack back and I don't car... moreI just bought some cheap Bluetooth earphones for sleep and use Bluetooth headphones any other time. I had an iPhone 6 for the longest time just because I liked my headphone jack and only made the switch to Pixel 7a Christmas 2024, but it feels so, so refreshing. Though obviously it depends on your own needs

This is fantastic news! Who doesn't want an even faster SoC than the current 8a has? But no more bullshit marketing AI features and still an affordable price?
The 8a with its Google/Samsung Exynos-based SoC is not the fastest or most efficient, but Google did a terrific job with software optimalisation to compensate for that. Something that most don't care about "because the hardware is fast enough and there is plenty of RAM".

Due to the software optimalisations, my gf 8a feels just as fast as my Asus Zenfone 10 with its Snapdragon 8 Gen2.

I don't understand why the writer of the article is bringing this as bad news. It's great news.

I'd like a lower tier version of the Tensor G5. It should still be faster than the G4 while also offering better efficiency and speed boost even if they lack by say 10%. It's still a good chipset that's for sure. Google just need to make sure to call it G5e or something 😂

Even snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 with Google supreme optimization is fine. But they won't use it. I am waiting eagerly for snapdragon 7+ Gen 4 for competing with Dimensity 8400.

Great an even lower spec of a Tensor soc ...... what could possibly go wrong ???

Tensor 4 in exchange for hardware upgrades is probably fine. Especially seeing the leaks of the 9a.
