Unless they're selling it for 299 dollars. No one will buy it. Especially with all the cheaper phones getting massive spec bumps.

"so by 2026 it will be almost two years old"
Lmao no. Tensor G4 is a disgrace of a chipset. It's just an improved version of Exynos 2200, a 2022 chipset. It's performances are on par with the old Snapdragon 8 gen 1, it's definitely not a 2024 chipset and definitely not one that should be reused in 2026.

> Then again, going with a 2024 SoC on a 2026 smartphone might end up with the exact same result.
Meanwhile, (Chinese) competitors give us a 2021 SoC with video recording capabilities from 2013 (Snapdragon 695) in 2025 and nobody bats an eye.

I don't really care about SoC, but why they can't make it at least Pixel 8 size, if not 4a... Those dimensions in recent years are hard pass, only Pixel worth considering is 8.

A hard pass the 10a will be the 9a. That will mean the 11a might get a Tensor G5, but it will still be a 2 year old chipset.

The two things that make Pixel worth buying:
Camera performance and stock Android. Take those away and it's another generic, underdeveloped phone with premium price tag and blind hype around it.

Yikes, one moment it’s ’Google will end the Pixel A series’ then all of a sudden we are talking about the 10A when the 9A isn’t even official 🤷♂️

Also makes sense since there are pixel vanilla and pros now.

Manufacturing quality...
Numerous software bugs...
Lack of heat dissipation due to internal design that half-heartedly mimics apple...
They have nothing but improvements to make.
If this device had a htc sign attached to it instead of google, no one would buy it

If they can price it right. An older chipset would not be a problem. Unless, the next generation Tensor has much superior performance and efficiency which would make a difference 2-3years later.

These iPixels have been sales flops since the first one.
I can't blame Google for wanting to cut costs. It's already a miracle they didn't discontinue them.
