            I support Bytedance to stick to its stance. That is, Tiktok is not for sale, forever. And Tiktok will remain a neutral medium for freedom lovers around the world. It is better for Bytedance to exit the US market, rather than having to obey highly colonial regulations.

              Interesting development. Will have to see what happens next.

                I don't think ByteDance can sell their algorithms to anyone outside of China so this essentially a user base sale if it does happen. I still don't expect much to come from it, especially with the push to get users on REDnote. Just seems unlikely IMO. They already went to the previous deadline without blinking and left a message up that lets users know why they can no longer use TikTok.

                      It's Google that must be banned worldwide because it spy us everywhere.

                        Clearly, America does not want to enter into any competition. They say we must always be at the top of the table, whether good or bad. This is power, whether you like it or not. If you try to overtake us, we will control and sanction you. So please be careful and do not reduce your distance from us. Stand back.

                          I really wish that TikTok is banned in the US.
                          Also big kudos for Xiaomi, Oppo and other REAL Chinese phone makers that keep their best phones from US.
                          Let the US live their own life.

                                    "TikTok was officially banned in the United States last Friday with the app being removed from app stores and remaining inaccessible for a total of 13 hours."

                                    That first line is only a half truth at best...

                                    The Biden administration did not enforce the ban in the end leaving this decision to the supreme court and the Trump administration eho started procieedings to ban the app in 2020.

                                    The App was never actually banned, ByteDance themselves took the app offline for those 13 hours, it was nothing but a short-lived stunt...
