Anonymous, 22 Jan 2025The whole whitelisting practice should be banned. Any phone... moreThis is due to excessive commercial monopoly granted to major US carriers since the 90's, United States is maybe the sole remaining country in the world where a carrier can impose to its subscriber base handsets and tablets models which can be used on its network.
Take a look at Global variants of Chinese phones and even Samsung phones from other markets: they might not work properly with US sim cards or (worse) banned even they are technically compatible with most of their 4G/5G bands....Absolute nonsense.
Major Canadian carriers like Rogers & Bell are way less restrictive in comparison.

The whole whitelisting practice should be banned. Any phone which conforms to the international 4G and 5G standards should be allowed without any limitations on any carrier. I f the carrier can't do it, it should be stripped of it's mobile license.

I really hope next Chipset from Qualcomm & Mediatek only have 4G & 5G support
They need to delete the 2G & 3G support because 2G & 3G were insecure.
