DarlingYext, 26 Jan 2025Vivo rules the market wherever they are present, they don... moreAbsolutely agree with you that if we had more competition in Europe it would have been for the best of everyone.. they don't have to open store chains, simply selling via big chains or retailers would have sufficed.. :(

For what it's worth, my S24 FE - only in its second month of operation, so too early to call on long term - *is* getting the equivalent of 10h+ SoT for me at this time.
Caveats: I mainly use it as an indoor tablet, and at low brightness levels due to my photosensitivity. And it varies quite a lot by which particular mobile games are in my mix - The Battle of Polytopia is the one I've been playing most and it's been shockingly light on battery drain even for a light 2D game according to my battery data, other games not so much.

... moreVivo rules the market wherever they are present, they don't sell where they aren't present I think that's obvious, Samsung is everywhere yet vivo beats them if they are there as well.

jiyen235, 26 Jan 2025i've used curved screens for years and i've never... moreProblem with applying a screen protector on a curved screen is that it won't stay on. The curved screen makes it harder for the screen protector to be glued on and it also makes the screen protector a bit sharp because of the edges.
Honestly, I see no benefit of a curved screen other than aesthetic purposes. Everything else (like functionality, fragility and practicality) is worse off.

Narazumono, 26 Jan 2025If they wanted their signature look to be a fake $50 phone ... moreYeah it does indeed look like a fake 50 dollar phone LOL
but like some Chinese phones, for example the Find X8 Pro, have numerous devices that look like exact clones of it, like the Redmi 14C for example or the Reno 12F/Oppo A3.
Only the Xiaomi 13/14 Ultra, Mate 60 Pro and X90 Pro+ looked truly unique to me. The rest look like they have similar counterparts in the budget realm.

Demon Slayer, 26 Jan 2025I don't want ANY curvature on the screen. No 2.5d, no ... morei've used curved screens for years and i've never had any accidental touches that wouldn't have happened on a flat screen. When holding my phone and reaching the other side with my thumb, a bit of my skin touches the phone and that happens on both curved AND flat screen for me.
And wow you have a cracked screen? That's almost like it happens to every phone ever, yeah curved screens are more fragile but if you apply a glass protector it's gonna be safe. I've never had a phone screen break and i've seen basically an equal number of broken flat and curved screens. The only issue i can think of in terms of safety is the fact that protectors are hard to find but THEY ARE THERE.
The issue that SHOULD affect most people is the glare, yet i'm yet to see someone complain about it. It seems that normies just make excuses for things they don't like lol. I dunno man, i'm yet to see a current day Samsung/Apple user come with a take that's NOT rancid.

dbizzle, 26 Jan 2025"If Samsung can give you 10h of screen on time with 30... moreI'm at 9h sot, sometimes close to 10h. Admittedly I have aggressive settings but it's possible. And this on a battery Accubattery claims has only 3280mAh left (85% of original capacity).
Sure, from 0% it would take longer than 30min to give me a full charge. I usually charge to 85% and that saves a lot of time and extends battery lifespan.
In any case. I've never before used a phone that can give me nearly 10h s-o-t on 3280mAh of battery. That's why I'll stick with Samsung for the forseeable future.

dbizzle, 26 Jan 2025"If Samsung can give you 10h of screen on time with 30... moreActually.. that's something i was wondering about recently.
Gsmarena tests if most devices list like 10+ hours browsing and video, 7-9h gaming...etc..
So if you combine some and make up a mix of usage, you should be able to get 10h screen time, according to math.
But it doesn't work - any YouTube test with clock on table shows that no phone achieves more than..8h? +-..
So where's the catch?? What am I overlooking?
10 hours uptime with an activity means 10% battery per 1 hour..so...idk, any thoughts?

HOPE, 26 Jan 2025Google...planning to take down samsung fools..they made a e... moreLol, I agree with Google's plans but we all know how their products end up.. I see someone speaking to TV,car, phone,etc..and then a great foreign accent comes with "something went wrong" or a total nonsense, having nothing in common with the query. Translate (if not learned by AI from books) can make anyone laugh or stun..

PureOS, 26 Jan 2025Not a single upgrade except soc. At least they could change... moreA few months ago, I tried to buy a second-hand S23+ 512GB, and none were priced below €600. Unfortunately, the S24 and S24+ series arrived in Europe with Exynos, so I decided to wait. A few days ago, I got the S25+ 512GB with a case and earbuds as a gift for €770. The price of an S23+ is still €600...

I'm a vanilla user and I'm looking forward to pick an S25 up later when it has dropped in price. My old S phone works fine still and I'm really enjoying the long battery life. On that topic. Before switching to Samsung I too used to focus on larger batteries and charge speeds. Then I noticed that power consumption is much more important than a big battery or charging speeds. And Samsung really excells at that.
If Samsung can give you 10h of screen on time with 30min of charging, who cares if it's only 25W? It's nice to max out the charging speed on any type-c charger or cable.

Having every Note device and thereafter, besides the S-Pen Bluetooth disappointment, now I find there is NO Smart View Cover case anymore!! Also in Europe, no Buds3 Pros for free or reduced price . . . Not worth the price just for the CPU update . . . Now I'm just sad :-(

It terms of upgrades, this must be the worst year for Samsung as far as i can remember
The S25 and S25+ received no changes besides the new chip which is something hardly worth the huge price jump from their predecessors
The S25 Ultra isn't any better. The camera upgrade is barely if at all noticeable. The camera overall is underwhelming for an "Ultra" phone of this price
Other changes include the rounded corners and S pen downgrade into a basic stylus which are things some people will hate while others won't care
If you have an older flagship like an S22 Ultra or a midranger, it might be worth the upgrade but even then you could save yourself some money and get the S24 Ultra. You still get 6 years of updates (which is way more than how long people keep their phones for) and you won't be missing out on anything new
