It's useless to brag about big batteries without caring for efficient use of the stored power. Luckily some do care and try to make everything as efficient as possible by trying to find the sweet balance between price, raw power and battery consumption.

The short battery life of the Realme 14 Pro+ is an anomaly and the chipset may be responsible rather than the new battery tech.

It must be admitted that it is strange to have such poor battery life with such a low-energy SoC with a 6000 mAh battery while Realme has accustomed us to much better with 5000-5200 mAh

Gnusmas, 25 Jan 2025im talking about how Xiaomi screwed things up with their me... moreFirst of all it's not memeUI but MIUI and second of all MIUI was already replaced with HyperOS.
You are correct that HyperOS (which is based on MIUI) is a battery drainer but this is only due to the AI crap and other trashware that they added on top of MIUI.
The good thing about Xiaomi phones is you can easily unlock bootloader (even a caveman can do it) and you can flash a custom ROM of your choice yes including good old MIUI firmware which in turn will make the phone run very fast and smooth and the battery will literally last forever. After 2 years of daily usage it's normal for the battery capacity to become weaker. All phones have this problem.
Now try to unlock bootloader on a realme device and flash a custom ROM. It is impossible sadly. Realme decided it was a good idea to completely remove the AOSP fastboot mode altogether and replace with their deep testing crap which doesn't even work.
That's why Realme will always be a looser company for loosers and old people.
Avoid realme like the plague. Realme is the 2nd worst after Samsung.
Mark these words...

Anonymous, 13 hours agoBuddy, careful there. Your Realme fanboi side is showing too muchYou mistake me with someone else, buddy.
I have owned a lot of smartphones from.a lot of brands - Sony Ericsson (Live with Walkman), LG (Optimus 2X), Xiaomi ( Redmi 4x, Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 8T, Poco X3) and even Samsung (S20 FE, A54) and I am anything but Realme fan, I have never owned one so far. However I know a well tounded device when I see one and this battery test simply does not make sense when compared to every other review of the same phone so far from other reviewers, no one has complained of the battery.
If PCMark tests are to be believed the phone should lasts about as much as Realme 13Pro+, since both last about 16,5-17 hours on the test..

Gnusmas, 25 Jan 2025im talking about how Xiaomi screwed things up with their me... moreSo, the Realme 14 Pro+ with 6000mah getting worse battery life than Redmi Note 14 Pro+ with 5110mah is only a fluke? Gosh, I know some fans can be delusional amd you just showed how delusional Realme fans can get.

Some even refused to accept the results, calling the battery test a sham et al. When it involves Redmi or Xiaomi phone, the same people are quick to accept the results and criticize HyperOS like no tomorrow.

Honestly ever since GSMArena started automating their battery tests few years ago the results were always weird!
I wonder if some phones respond differently to automated apps like the one gsmarena uses i.e. "viser", like maybe some poor optimization leads to additional battery drain when using these kind of apps.
The only consistent battery tests I see are for iPhones, but for android devices, weird results are everywhere, even from Samsung phones.

I actually posted it in Samsung thread, but question is generic so I'd like to hear your opinion, guys.
Gsmarena battery tests of most devices nowadays list like 10+ hours browsing, 20 video, 7-9h gaming., 20+ calls, 20+ music,etc..
So if you combine some and make up a mix of usage, you should be able to get 10+h screen time, according to math!
10 hours uptime with an activity means 10% battery per 1 hour..so if i combine 8h Video, 1h gaming, 5h browsing
.. I'm just throwing numbers, but i hope you get my point: if all activities consume less than 10% per hour we should get more than 10h usage.
.
But it doesn't work in reality, doesn't it- any YouTube test with clock on table shows that no phone achieves more than..8h? +-..
So where's the catch?? What am I overlooking?
...idk, any thoughts?

Realme launched the Realme 14 Pro series on Thursday, January 16, 2025. It claims to be the world’s first cold-sensitive and colour-changing smartphone, developed in collaboration with Nordic design studio Valeur Designers. When the temperature drops below 16°C, the phone's back cover transforms its colour from Pearl White to a Vibrant Blue, for example. This also reverses when the temperature rises. It comes globally in Pearl White and Suede Grey, along with two other India-exclusive shades, Bikaner Purple and Jaipur Pink.

Again a proof that Chinese makers like to brag about the so called cutting edge tech they develop. In this case it might be possible that these batteries are indeed able to store more power while retaining the same size but till now no Chinese brand that made publicity about these new batteries was able to proof that it has much better performances. On the contrary, they are even worse than they were before.

[deleted post]What is wrong with you? A simple sentence and your reply is yet again a whole essay. You can't tell me that this battery performance from the Realme 14 Pro+ was good, and if that's not your issue then why even reply.

I actually have the phone for about a week and a half and so far the battery is prettty soild and could be among the best I've ever used.
I got an update a week ago though so this could be the reason my device has good battery life as the software is now more optimized
Maybe our guys at GSMArena are yet to receive or test the new update so please guys take your time as you want till you get to properly test the phone with the new update (the update also improved camera quality for me as well)

SShock, 26 Jan 2025Or maybe they are lying about the real battery capacity. Re... moreI have ordered few times replacement batteries from eBay, Amazon,ali.. for various devices -laptops, cameras, video recorders, phones, cleaners,e-tools, motorcycle 12v....nimh, lion, whatever was needed.
Bottom line is -> 90% were DoA or died within months/an year max. Not a single one lasted even close to the original, which the device in question came with. And all of them had 100000000 top user opinions and reviews ;)
