Mkyrt, 29 Jan 2025So, you downloaded Deepseek to learn about Chinese Taipei? ... moreThe point is that it is questionable if it's better than other apps if it is unable to talk truthfully about some well-known facts. Do you want this app as your reliable assistant if this is the case?

I tried many AI software. None of them understands what I am trying to say...
First of all we need natural intelligence to be able to build artificial versions. I haven't seen it yet. Those who are intelligent have Dunning–Kruger effect problems and they are sitting at home...

So, I said "I don't see these other AI companies going away anytime soon..." but I also mentioned the concerns over U.S. citizens' data being harvested by China. Then, in less than 24 hours I get these responses:
"Why you asking?" "No cares about you!" "And closed source like OpenAi is saving your privacy or what?" "And you believed the US? ...Now some company exposed them like the money hungry vultures that they are lol." "If you had some sense you would know that openAi is not open source... Oh wait but anything not coming from America is bad."
Welp, I guess this IS the end of all those other companies. DeepSeek will be the only one that exists from now on!🤷🏻♂️
(There may have been sarcasm in that previous statement.)🤦🏻♂️

The meltdown of OpenAi on DeepSeek is so hilarious when they are accusing DeepSeek of "stealing" their "IP". All while entire OpenAI's existence is based on STOLEN data of entire world, be it art, text or other contributions. Also I like how it's affecting NVIDIA too. Their hyping of AI and jacking up prices because of it instead of giving a damn about gamers who built that company by buying their hardware. So, yeah, I like watching their meltdown, even if it lasts only for few days.

Mkyrt, 29 Jan 2025So, you downloaded Deepseek to learn about Chinese Taipei? ... moreThese AI chatbots are mostly used by students for writing essays. So yes, it does matter what information it provides regarding history or geographical locations, or political personnel.
I'm not saying it's a bad tool. I simply said it has some flaws & to be wary of them & double-check the information you get from it.

Let me ask you. If this query worked, would you ask it again about Taiwan or Tienanmen? No. So stop pretending that it's useless.
The majority of people will find it useful. Especially programmers etc. Nobody cares about it's answers regarding Chinese Taipei , Tienanmen etc.

Deepseek is much smarter than ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini.... especially at solving problems that's a fact!
Now you can expect from the US -> don't use Deepseek it's a chinese spy bot, it will steal your data like they did with Huawei, Tiktok etc... use our tools so we can continue stealing your data, although for China there are no evidences but remember Snowden = so much about the US data privacy....

I tried DeepSeek, and it's not a good source of information IMO. Try asking it about the "Tiananmen Square protests", or about "Taiwan's history" or "Taiwan's president". It will refuse to answer to the former & give complete inaccurate information for the latter. It straight up refuses to acknowledge Taiwan as a country, and denies the existence of a Taiwanese president.
You can ask the same questions to ChatGPT or other competitors, and they will give you the correct information.
You see, China doesn't like talking about certain things, which are off-limits even for their AI tools. So always double-check your information from multiple sources or AI chatbots before you use it for educational purposes.

NeonHD, 28 Jan 2025"DeepSeek is quite new, only founded in 2023"
... moreFor context, open ai and meta ai was founded in 2015 with several big backers, virtually "unlimited capital", and general support from the whole western industry (google started later but they has similar if not bigger capital than the others). So what deepseek has done in 2 years beats all western AI giants who not only has worked 5 times longer but also has access to more capital and newest hardware.
Deepseek has been working not only with limited fund, but also under unfair disadvantages (mainly US sanction which limited their hardware procurement, so much so that even Sam Altman didn't see them as rival back in 2023 interview in India).
I can't really say I like the communist party (the same as I don't like the militaristic imperialism of US), but I will give credit to deepseek for destroying the current AI monopoly and bringing actual competition to the market.

Deepseek is more secure than Open ai as deepseek is an open source model, which you can download and run locally.
