      I have such a strong personal distaste for Samsung devices, that I pretty much never bothered to read anything about them and so I just had a preconceived notion that they manufacture displays and got that locked down at least. Today I learned both that their flagships have grainy displays and that it's one of the brands with green lines issues most often encountered. What is even happening 👀

An 8-bit + 2-bit FRC setup *WILL* cause noticeable flicker, which is already bad enough with low PWM dimming rates present on most OLED displays that there will be rather noticeable flickering. Manufacturers need to make native 10-bit panels that have at least 3000Hz PWM dimming rates (minimum rate that absolutely no one is affected by) because this flicker not only makes phones unusable to the 10% of the population that are sensitive to flicker, but it also worsens the eyesight of everyone else. Flicker is so much worse than blue light for the eyes, and it can absolutely destroy someone's eyesight.

              And then, good-for-nothing YT "influencers" go around pandering Samsung puts/has the best screen in their devices 🤣.

              Shameless pandering for a shameless brand that has learned only to mass produce crap with ton of marketing terms on top of it to sell them to others.

              They never learned how to make a proper LCD screen, and after a full decade working with OLED, it seems they still cant get it right, not even for their flagship product.
