I'm really LOL at the comments here 🤣 also 🤦🏻♂️ at the same time. Like me, I bought my iPhone 11 with 128GB storage. Why I want to fork and $$ to get 256GB iPhone before I decide to buy my iPhone? Did y'all forget OTG storage (or y'all never heard or know about it 🙄) when the extra money I can buy 1TB of OTG storage? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Ohh wait, don't tell me y'all think that only Android support OTG and iPhone didn't? LOL at y'all 🤣🤣 since now iPhone comes with USB-C port, it's much easier for me in the future when I'm buying my next iPhone and transfer stuff between iPhone and my Android phone.
You all just arguing over some non existent stuff. iPhone never had SD card slot since the OG (first) iPhone release and mark my words, it will never be. Just use OTG storage if y'all need more space rather just keeping all your not so much picture or video inside your phone storage and until it run out of space. Plus it will make your phone slow, open apps slow, when update comes, can't update due to no empty space and if you manage to update? There will be some problem after the update. Why? Due to something corrupted file system or something.

Goated Sigma, 30 Jan 2025"Apple Pricing ☝️🤓" 100$ from 128GB to 256GB? ... moreBecause they've NEVER supported SD cards. This isn't 2007, they're not going to suddenly start supporting physical media in 2025 if they didn't nearly two decades ago.

DaFink, 30 Jan 2025I can't help but chuckle at all the talk about SD card... moreOf course they won't. What is laughable here is that their nickel and diming for storage is now catching up to consumers. I hope the rumors of Google running out of storage space draws closer each passing day and happens to other companies.
Thanks to AIs generating useless content slops by the thousands. It will be a glorious to see cloud worshippers rekt.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2025The world fastest read write speed SD card is still slower ... moreWhich doesn't matter if you want to store your music and photos on a SD card - there is literally NOTHING in either iOS or Android making it impossible to have the app/OS decide if an SD card is fast enough to store something on it.
Stop drinking the marketing coolaid.

The answer is that both Apple and consumers would rather pay $2.99 per month for iCloud, rather than have more local storage. Services are basically a money printer for Apple, and consumers save on upfront costs.
I would be curious to see the comparable figures for Android phones. Samsung's storage pricing tiers are all over the place, while Google's tend to be less steep than Apple. (Of course, Samsung doesn't still cloud storage, so it may not be the best comparison.)

Too expensive that's why
On Android, if you run out of storage you can simply transfer the files on your pc which is what i did when my 256 gb S22 Ultra was full. Now obviously i would prefer to simply have more storage but this sure does beat buying their crappy overpriced subscriptions clouds or whatever
iPhone users on the other hand are screwed. Better get to deleting

I can't help but chuckle at all the talk about SD cards 🤣. I mean, Apple hasn’t ever used SD cards in iPhones, and its only been what, 18 years?!?!?! Like they're suddenly going to start now and let third-party SD card companies waltz in and swipe their storage revenue! Keep dreaming, folks!

Unfortunately, it seems the get everyone into buying cloud storage trick is working well. And now other companies like Samsung, Motorola, and Google have noticed and either removed or never added the SD Card Slot on their flagship phones.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2025sd card is slower than internal memory.Yeah, we all know they removed sd cards because of slow speed, totally not because they wanna sell cloud storage or earn stupidly high profits on higher storage variants and definitely not because they want you to buy a new device when you eventually run out of storage in 4 years
