I understood your argument, and it's fair, no upgrades compared to last year's devices, or at lest very little, is definitely disappointing, but it's not like this Asus seems like it's going to bring anything new to the table, and what's old was already outdated last year, whereas vivo's camera setup isn't nearly as old, apart from maybe the main camera. Plus, what you are saying basically means that 2 out of 3 cameras are definitely better, and I don't think there is anything to talk about after that. Especially given that the vivo even has a higher resolution display, longer software support, and faster charging.

2 OS updates is unacceptable even at $500 let alone near $1000, software is expensive, and I'm not expecting 7 OS updates, but 4 should be the least they offer.

This "Ultra phone" reminds me of the meme.

Mom can I get an S25 Ultra?
We already have an Ultra phone at home.

They think brands that sell less phones have obligations to sell for 20-30% cheaper compared to samsung, apple, vivo, xiaomi , oppo and huawei.
No matter if their phones cost same of more to make.

Of course you'd expect Vivo to have better cameras as they typically do but apart from the telephoto and ultrawide cameras it's hard to determine. Still the Vivo x200 is taking the Samsung approach of almost no upgrades. The camera system is no better than the x100/x100s. 0nly significant upgrade is the battery size. It's no wonder sales have been very poor in China. To be honest there are likely better options than both of those phones at a similar price. The disappointing thing is the lack of upgrades. That seems to be a trend though this year. Maybe the upcoming top ultras will bring more upgrades but the standard and pro models haven't been that good so far especially for camera upgrades

The end result of the phone itself is so much worse, and shorter support is also obviously worse.

Not to mention that the X200 has a way better camera setup, both hardware and software is better, larger AF capable ultrawide, way larger zoom lens, and a periscope one at that. It also has significantly faster charging and even comes with the charger in some regions, whereas the Asus doesn't come with one anywhere.

Old tired cameras, two years of software support, no way to support yourself (locked bootloader, no proper sources), exorbitant price.

Why does Asus want to fail so hard and so bad?

DarlingYext, 6 hours agoThe problem is that even the base X200 is a much better pho... moreNonsense. How could they sell it for that in Europe? The base x200 is poor for the price. No LTPO screen, no wireless raging, short focal fingerprint reader, very average speakers, lacking some basic camera software features (no HDR video of any kind for). Hardware wise I think a similar price is certainly justified (of course Vivo's imaging processing will be better but Vivo's hardware is basically the same for 3 generations which is really bad). The hardware cost on this is bound to be at least around the same as the x200 so why should it be so much cheaper? The only brand offering a lot cheaper prices than others in Europe is Nubia with the z70 ultra. If people want value in Europe they should go for that model. It's priced much cheaper than the likes of Vivo, Xiaomi, OPPO, Honor and Samsung which are all priced similarly for flagship series phones

                                Infinix Note 12

As a current ZF10 user (the ZF10 was the last great ZF), never buying another Zenfone, the ZF11U was a mediocre flagship, this one is headed that way, too.

This phone looks hideous. Why they abandoned their much more popular compact Zenfone is beyond me. And knowing Asus, probably still only two years worth of updates.
