Asus Zenfones have been my long time favourites and I loved it like anything. However, given the way Asus is going, I'm looking for options now, as my current Asus phone is almost dying out and Asus on the other hand are busy pushing away their loyal customers. Such expensive phones and Android upgrades to only 2 levels. They need to revisit their Strategy.

Bosic012, 04 Feb 2025All the Xperia models are a tad bit too expensive.all the models are disgustingly expensive but the 5 V was so good because it wasn't outrageous at that price point, considering its smaller size, and thus it was only a tad too expensive. If it were 100-200 dollars lower it'd have been phone of the year.

A compact midrange phone would sell well. But nope, Asus still going for whatever is this. Zenfone 10 might be my last Asus phone, might switch to base Samsung S series soon when this phone stops working (6,2"... 4000 mAh... ughhh...).

Make a small phone that many people want, but don't make it available in more than half the world and then scrap it citing low sales! On top of that, make generic slabs like this! How are you unique now? It's almost like Asus does not want us to buy Zenfones now.. Just stop making them then instead of making shit ones and making us hate them!

This looks like the result from unholy marriage between Xiaomi 12 and Oneplus 10R. Even the color schemes are a "inspired" by the 2 models.

I understood your argument, and it's fair, no upgrades compared to last year's devices, or at lest very little, is definitely disappointing, but it's not like this Asus seems like it's going to bring anything new to the table, and what's old was already outdated last year, whereas vivo's camera setup isn't nearly as old, apart from maybe the main camera. Plus, what you are saying basically means that 2 out of 3 cameras are definitely better, and I don't think there is anything to talk about after that. Especially given that the vivo even has a higher resolution display, longer software support, and faster charging.
2 OS updates is unacceptable even at $500 let alone near $1000, software is expensive, and I'm not expecting 7 OS updates, but 4 should be the least they offer.

We already have an Ultra phone at home.

They think brands that sell less phones have obligations to sell for 20-30% cheaper compared to samsung, apple, vivo, xiaomi , oppo and huawei.
No matter if their phones cost same of more to make.

Of course you'd expect Vivo to have better cameras as they typically do but apart from the telephoto and ultrawide cameras it's hard to determine. Still the Vivo x200 is taking the Samsung approach of almost no upgrades. The camera system is no better than the x100/x100s. 0nly significant upgrade is the battery size. It's no wonder sales have been very poor in China. To be honest there are likely better options than both of those phones at a similar price. The disappointing thing is the lack of upgrades. That seems to be a trend though this year. Maybe the upcoming top ultras will bring more upgrades but the standard and pro models haven't been that good so far especially for camera upgrades
