Is this one of those rare instances when last year's model is better than the new one?

Very good comparison of which I share the conclusions. I will not change my S24 Ultra for the new S25 Ultra, the improvements are too insignificant, I will wait for the S26 Ultra. I was ready to buy the new model, but it would just be like throwing money out the window.

        This is a good take. S25 Ultra is not bad it's just so similar to last year and so few upgrades that you can't get excited enough to buy it..plus the development cost must be nothing with the stuck on camera surrounds. So you'd think at least they'd make it cheaper if they can't be bothered to do meaningful improvements.

            One of these phones looks like the real deal, while the other looks like the fake version of it.

            Is that really a good thing on an Ultra flagship that is supposed to be a large device anyways?

                  They redid the calls test, they probably knew it was fluke when other two were nowhere near that per-capacity.

                          How do you know that it's Grade 5 Titanium? When Samsung themself didn't specify which Grade of Titanium they're using.

                            This is actually a good take, and shows that GSMArena isn't always held at gunpoint (through threatening to not give money/review samples) by OEMs to publish articles praising them or make their new products look good.

                                Samsung going to go from 'The Best Phone of the year' to 'the Bust Of The Year'



                                  Samsung should be bringing the "AI Smarts" to the S24 Ultra as well. That makes it a moot advantage. Other than the SoC, there's no upgrade of note (lol). S24 Ultra is definitively the more featured package; and it's cheaper too.
