Kind of reminds me of those cheap garden tents, where clothing is used to actually support the fragile aluminum frame, not the other way around ;)

Because easiest way to fix that bubbling of the screen protector is to just remove the screen protector but if it voids the warranty of very expensive phone.....
With Samsung being very slow with upgrading their folding phones and having that issue with screen protector bubbling and warranty thing i would not buy Samsung foldable anymore.
Will see if there is folding iPhone from Apple will they do the same as Samsung using screen protector which will eventually start to bubble and that just removing it voids the warranty. I would expect that getting huge backlash thought, somehow Samsung seems to getting away with it.
I actually think about buying Chinese oem foldable because those are getting much bigger batteries with faster charging, better cameras and it seems those oems are fine removing the screen protector(if there is) without it voiding the warranty.

DarlingYext, 23 hours agoThese Flip and Fold series phones are basically unfinished ... moreThey work just fine and last as long as slab, if you know how to use a foldable. 1. Dont smash it close or yank it open 2. keep it unfolded when charging and not carrying.

I'm more waiting about the G Fold than the almost unchanged Z Fold 7... hoping it'll arrive this summer

I'm back and forth on this, but I'm still not convinced the Z7 will be the size of the SE. We've never a screen ratio change two years in a row. On the other hand, I'm not sure an updated Z6 would be enough to make people upgrade. The Z6 eventually outsold the Z5 but it took direct discounts(something Samsung never did before) to do so.
They may have backed themselves into a corner by showing the SE, but I personally think they would rather hold off on any further screen ratio changes until the Z8.

vik457, 04 Feb 2025Same old dwarf of a telephoto on fold7What do you mean? No way that a 10MP sensor at 1/3.94" isn't enough for $1800, plus at least the ultrawide doesn't have AF because most people surely don't need that either.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2025I had Flip 5 which has this issue as many Samsung foldables... moreThese Flip and Fold series phones are basically unfinished products that do work great, but not for a very long time, and have below average specs for Ultra prices.

So yet again, they are gonna stay almost the same as their predecessors.
Imagine Samsung is gonna release the 7th generation of the Fold, and it got the same battery of the Fold 2!
Every company is now making better foldable phones than Samsung. Samsung is lucky that Chinese companies are not selling their products in the US.
The only area that Samsung is superior to the others is the software. Otherwise, it is inferior to all other competitors.
These words come from a Samsung loyal user since the Galaxy S3. I purchased 21 Samsung phones during these 14 years, but I can't defend then anymore!

I had Flip 5 which has this issue as many Samsung foldables that the screen protector is starting to bubble and if you do not replace or remove it(not replacing screen protector voids the warranty according to Samsung) it will eventually break the foldable screen.
I got mine bubbling under 3 months of owning it and Samsung will pay once to replace the screen protector for free so i replaced it and it took few days and then i sold it and bought Oneplus 12 which is much better phone, better cameras, better battery life, no throttling even playing games like Genshin Impact but i do miss small form factor of the Flip 5.
It seems other oems are not using screen protectors at all or at least i have never heard anyone have these kind of issues with other than Samsung foldables.
I had actually Fold gen 1 which i had for 2 years without issues and then i bought refurbished Fold 3 which did not have screen protector(but did have that backmarket 1 year warranty) but it was so big that i sold it and bought Flip 5 brand new.

Will the screen ever be strong enough to not get marks from touching it. Or same bs plastic film ?

If they don't improve on the key components like better cameras, wider cover screen, a bit slimmer and better battery, then it's not really much of an upgrade for such a premium price. A better processor and slightly improved crease won't convince people to buy them

Should have closed the Exynos plant entirely and bring back the headphone jack.
Also expandable memory.
And removable battery.
And under display camera.

So they will also stay nearly the same as their predecessors which means they should become cheaper, Flip especially if it truly ends up getting an Exynos chipset, but of course the price will remain the same too, nothing changes.
