Photo of the upcoming Oppo Find N5 shows only minimal crease

06 February 2025
Most of the teasers for the N5 so far had focused on how thin it is - but with foldable display tech improvements, Oppo has managed to nearly eliminate the crease.

I am not even mentioning the Samsung flagship yet. Samsung flagship is just too overkill compared to mediocre chinese flagship.

This might make me jump on the foldable bandwagon

Nothing special considering the Find N had the least visible crease amongst foldables since the 1st model. They should compare the crease next to the Special Edition.

Oppo had a 5.3% foldable market share in 2024. That was less than Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi and Vivo. Those are their main competitors in China. Those are the phones that should be in this crease comparison. Are they trying to increase their sales? If so, this makes no sense.

In fact, it just occurred to me Samsung doesn't even sell the Z Fold in China. They sell the SE as the W25. That isn't a W25 so this makes even less sense than I initially thought.

I still used an original Oppo Find N, imported fro Hong-Kong. The screen already has a minimal crease. It's really easy to keep clean from dust, lint etc. It was really easy to put on any Google products I wanted. I even like the operating system.... My only issue is that everything has to be imported from China. I loved the squarer shape as I only have small hands and it fits my my small pockets women's trousers are cursed with. I look forward to an updated one soon.

I don't think any foldable can do dust protection. At the very least we're still a long ways from that.

GAMIR3DH, 06 Feb 2025Now for the edited comment. The Z Fold's 3-4 and 5... moreto my eyes the difference is miniscule and should only be noticeable in comparison but not in practice.

No dust protection at all. I stopped buying foldables because lint, sand, and general food bits get inside the mechanism and they chew the circuitry with every single opening. Is it that complicated to seal them up properly?

Ouifuf, 06 Feb 2025Chinese foldable make Samsung look outdated every time istg I wouldn't be surprised if they used the Z Fold as the benchmark for ' creased ' foldable phones

Another flop-able phone with entry level phone software, and of course generic ugly big circle camera island.

I am not surprised if this also comes with premium greenline screen since they are being manufactured by the same company with OnePlus.

I agree, i like squared off designs for displays due to the screen real estate and the fact that im a huge Galaxy Note fan but compared to let's say, the iPhone/Pixels, this sort of display corner curve is completely acceptable and i don't have any issues with this. The pixel 9 pro fold, to my eyes, has curvier corners and i don't like that, this seems to be the perfect middle ground. Though I'd say the Z Fold5's corners are the most ideal if you consider comfort.
