Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal unboxing

That's a sweet specsheet.
Now we need a version with just 1 good camera, a more subtle design (preserving the durability) similar to something like Galaxy Xcover maybe, same huge battery, keep audio jack and SD card, 7" 2:1 screen, clean Android, unlockable bootloader and a digestible price tag.
I don't care about selfies so the rear screen can go and since the phone has bezels anyway move the front camera out of the display.
I'd be more than happy with 7+ Gen 3/ rumored 7 Elite/8s Elite/8 Gen 3 (in no particular order) but no less performance than a 7+ Gen 3 please.
Other than that this is all I could ask for in a phone on paper and certainly more. Just the price is a little out there.

That clock in the middle of the camera island was totally unnecessary. Looks like a generic no-brand toy from alixpress
But good phone otherwise, they just need to work on design a little bit. Someone using an Ultra or Pro Max won't switch to a phone looking like that even tho the features are good

1400 euro for this is too much and i cant read anything out of it that justify that high price.
Rugged phones dont exactly need more power then something like SD 7s gen 3 or D7300 with something like 256GB storage and 8/12GB RAM choice.
Rugged is still for the people for extreme conditions so what is all this power needed for ? It's not like the people who buy rugged phones play games that need that extra mile on performance. Never mind that it's not like you can use these as mini computers like hook it on a larger screen to then have keyboard and mouse and have it like work station.
I am not a person for this type of phone market but if i would get a rugged then no way i would spend more then 500 euro and even then i want the phone to have something like most minimum performance as SD 7 gen 3 aka SD870 so the phone would run smooth and open apps in decent speeds.

Just my opinion, 10 Feb 2025Pay him no attention, he is just an Apple fanboy who does n... moreOf course it had to be an apple fanboy, thinking that plain, modern and sleek designs mean stylish, heck sometimes durable.
And oh wait, it would probably be a few hundred bucks more expensive than the 16PM, but it still makes up for it with flagship specs and tank level durability, which might be a bit overexaggerated but its still very durable.
In addition, yeah, rugged phones are probably mainly used by construction workers or other workers with hard jobs, who prefer durability.

La Fone Dumasse, 10 Feb 2025First of all, its a rugged phone, they're not really s... morePay him no attention, he is just an Apple fanboy who does not understand that the design of rugged phones often prioritizes functionality and durability over sleek aesthetics. Features like reinforced frames, protective coatings, and specialized buttons can contribute to a less conventionally -beautiful- design, but hey.... they serve a practical purpose. Furthermore, the target audience for rugged phones prioritizes these practical considerations over purely aesthetic ones. Someone working in construction is more likely to value a phone that can withstand harsh conditions than one that looks like a fashion accessory.
deeming features as 'outdated' simply because they don’t match current trends ignores their lasting usefulness. Many users my self included still prefer local storage solutions over cloud options, and those who appreciate high-quality sound often seek out the headphone jack, which remains indispensable for audiophiles and everyday listeners alike. Ruggedness is another feature that will always hold value for individuals in demanding jobs or those who engage in outdoor activities

[deleted post] you again? Even though you choose to remain anonymous, I recognize your passionate feelings about Apple and Samsung from every comment section. Honestly, constantly criticizing everything else that isn't one of those two brands is becoming old. We understand that you are a fan, a very dedicated fan
Perhaps you could share some constructive feedback instead of just blanket negativity? What specific issues do you have with this phone? Just stating, " It won't sell because those who want outdated features are poor, and the design is ugly, " doesn't provide much depth

[deleted post]First of all, its a rugged phone, they're not really supposed to look good although i kinda like the design imo.
Second of all, sometimes its not poor people who want the phone, sometimes those people have enough money.

To be fair , as I read som saying if it was LCD is betterment
Is a bit divided for me
Oled means we have higher brightness and crisp quality but it also is a vulnerable and expensive panel
Lcd is better at ultra phone stuff because it can recover from burn damage. That's like most important part for ultra phons.
Yes screen stuff like eye sensitivity I understand
But mainly burn resistance is important cause oleds don't recover from this.
I only state this from a ultra phone perspective.
That is , a phone that's built for extreme.

All these powerful phones are made by the best brands, but these phones still don't work in horror movies and series!🤣

If it didn't have OLED I would consider buying it.

Why OLED screen?
All other ulefones have IPS LCD too so why put the cheap mediocre OLED screen on this masterpiece of a fine?
You ruined it with the OLED.
Nobody in their right mind would buy OLED phone nowadays.
OLED is only for naive fools who don't know any better.

Raw option for every single camera, good tele lens and good processing is what I would need it to have for me to buy it, tho I love IR, design etc, I still miss a lot more features in it...
Hope they get better and out some hi end of that kind.

I know also about iiif150 with some similar specs, but having new hw definitely costs a lot, specially that thermal camera, which alone can be found for 800 euro with similar specs, no wonder it's not cheap, but considering hw, it actually is in a way.
As I mentioned, there are similar phones out there for way less, sacrificing some new stuff of course.
What stays the same and different from likes of samsung is 1. Class design, fresh and exciting, made to offend bit also to not be boring.
This is what I miss from samsung lately...
