Galaxy S25 pre-orders in India were 20% higher than for the S24 series last year

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2025"which still has lower resolution, than the S20" ... moreIn Europe it still starts at the equivalent of 970 usd, and that's the 128GB variant with old UFS 3.1, with all the money they are saving on the rest of the parts apart from the SoC, a QHD+ panel would easily fit into the price, and for those who don't need such high resolution could always turn it down to 1080p in the settings.

Unfortunatelly, yes a lot of people do. Even from the S24 Ultra to S25 Ultra.
"For normal people it doesn't matter if screen or battery is similar to last year model. "
Sure, but some things aren't similar, but rather worse, while other features are missing. This shouldn't just be acceptable.
"Normal people upgrade every 3-5 years and for them S25 is a big upgrade."
It's just an S22 with a bigger battery (but same size as S21), and faster chipset, not that the S22 was slow, so no it's absolutely not a big upgrade. Plus it has a lower resolution display than the S20. There you go, I've covered the last 3-5 years of base S series phones, and compared to none is this a big upgrade to.

Base model of S10 & S20 has $1000 starting price at that time (equivalent to $1219 in today's value). While base model of S25 today costs about $800, thats about $400 price different. So its understandable if S25 has lower resolution than S20.
Considering many upgraded hardwares and software on S25 series (better chipset, Galaxy AI 2.0, Provisual Engine, Personal Data Engine, ProScaler Display, Satellite calling, Qi2 wireless charging, 7 OS upgrades, etc.) , S25 series provide great improvement compared to any older S Series.

If Samsung's being as generous (or desperate) as they're being here in Europe this year, a I'm not surprised.
I paid 500€ for the 512GB version of the S25. Not only Samsung doubled the storage, they then gave me 500€ for the 256GB Galaxy S23 I had. With this sort of deal it's really a no brainer.
Even with OneUI 7 being the absolute piece of s**t that it is.

S25+ for 512 gb is trading at Rs 99,999/- after discovering. Still It is expensive for the specs it has. It should be Rs 80,000/- and not more than that.
Samsung is spending heavily on advertisement and collecting the same from customers by extensively pricing the product.

Quite surprised with these numbers, considering S25 trio brings nothing (well, barely anything) new in comparison to S24 you'd think people get previous model and safe money... Samsung potentially did very good offer there and got them numbers up

Good numbers, but I'll keep my congratulations for now. Hopefully in 45 days they'll come out with statistics again on how many of the pre-ordered Galaxies from the 25 series are being used and how many have been returned. Only then will I decide whether to congratulate them or not.

Correct, but it's good/more than enough because of hardware not because of software, and good hardware doesn't need constant software updates to be/stay good. Plus what you are saying doesn't really hold up, the Galaxy A15 5G is already extremely slow, and I don't mean compared to flagships, but compared to similarly priced phones, which is pretty bad because the A16 5G is basically the same phone but with longer software support for newer Android versions that it won't be able to run smoothly.
