Mate x2 is also old phone with old sensors and optics, new ones would be better, not to mention I got similar hw in my phone and I use tele camera mostly through the day, so no problem.
As for hw in vivo, its indeed impressive, but what I care about is raw output and all brands got their quirks, its not just white balance - I did try to play with that, but I could't get the same output from vivo or xiaomi as from sony or samsung, and I'm not fan of next lvl photoshop editing - going for specific color changing, which would be needed in this case where there is green and yellow preference (in raws). I guess it shouldn't be as visible in latest models, but I couldn't catch a much change towards neutrality to be on saumsung/sony lvl. Well, it is me, seeing a difference in output from canon and sony in full frame cameras - so even if I'm too petty, I'm surely not wrong in this.
Well, most people wont care, but I use phone as my portable camera, so I do...

vrvly, 16 Feb 20251. no new fold is camera centric enough (as they fail to co... moreAbsolutely rancid take. The X Fold3 Pro is thinner, 60g lighter yet with a 5700 mah battery and with an infinitely superior camera system. Try using that 10x of the Mate X2 in anything other than a perfectly sunny condition, you're not gonna tolerate it let alone like it. If you think Samsung has precise colors you're wrong lol, there's a difference between a neutral white balance and accurate colors. Samsung and Google suck the life out of an image, be it a cool or warm hue image, they neutralize everything. Looks great at first glance but if you were there in the moment the captured shot looks hideous.
I'd have understood it if you talked about videography but you're talking about photography and apart from high res, Vivo absolutely has the best foldable camera system out right now. Small dual telephotos are only good for videography, in photography Vivo's far superior sensor will take the win without a doubt.
Foldables naturally have a compromise compared to regular phones. Apart from Ultras, we don't really see 1 inchers on even slab phones and look at how large the camera bumps are on the Ultras and how thick those phones are, how would they fit that on a foldable AND make it thin? Think man. I've held a Z Fold5 and it felt hideously big to me. Something like the Mate X6 would be perfect if they can fit the X Fold3 Pro's cameras on that frame.
And what are you talking about bro? The Find N3's main cam is 1/1.43" and the X Fold3 Pro's main cam is 1/1.3". That's the same size as the 16 Pro Max, X200 Pro, S25 Ultra, Magic7 Pro, Xiaomi 15 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro. It's larger than the Find X8 Pro and Mate 70 Pro+'s main cams. Is that not impressive enough for a foldable? The only thing i'd want is a JN5 for a UW cam with a JN5 selfie cam if possible and that's it.
You're just delusional at this point.

jiyen235, 13 Feb 2025you forgetting the X Fold3 Pro?1. no new fold is camera centric enough (as they fail to compete with mate x and x2 design), what they do is just halving usable thickness for sensors, and now they make it even slimmer. There is a limit to how big a camera bump can be - well, I wish to see they made one with 1'' sensors and 7x optical zoom, I wouldn't argue then...
2. I'm not forgetting x fold3pro, or any other, its just that looking good and having a lot of MP and cameras is not how I understand it being ''camera centric'', well, forget hardware, they cant even bring more precise colors and high resolution like google/samsung/sony on their hi res sensors, not to mention just some can do hi res hdr raws.... so in terms of processing is samsung fold the best, in terms of hardware is oppo n3... vivo got poor hdr in comparison to oppo, worse hi res in comparison to samsung so its hard to even say its ''camera centric'' representative even among current folds... anyway, my main point was hardware, and its shameful they call those devices camera centric or next gen while not delivering better hardware for sensors than past foldables or bar phones...

Chinese **PowerPoint&Spreadsheet-managers' and viral marketeers'** shortsightedness strikes again.
Of course, the phenomenon of anticonsumerist decisions is not limited to China. In fact, is extremely prevalent in western societies as well. It doesn't help that **they** usually have a loyal fanbase at their disposal to do the viral marketing astroturfing for them, and to rub it in some more, they're more often than not seen as the cool//popular ones by the general public. The ppl who see through the whole charade are getting labelled as the dorky losers "who can't afford the latest ...... " (looking at you Apple Mafia a.o....).
Allright, on the boycott list Oppo//OnePlus goes...

Folks, it is now confirmed there will not be a One Plus Open 2. Highly disappointed. I'm not sure I'm willing to take the risk importing a Find N just for the battery.
Next year is projected to be a big year for the foldable market. I'm sure they will pause to see how things work out with the N5 before they plot their next move.

Bennis, 13 Feb 2025How in the world do you 3D print with titanium?
"The process involved several steps, including melting the titanium into liquid form and then converting it to powder, which was loaded onto the 3D printer."

Darth Caesium, 13 Feb 2025You can still at least fit a JN5 sensor onto the ultrawide ... morewhere would you fit the mammoth 5600 mah battery? This phone is thinner than the Magic V3 with most likely a better hinge and a far larger battery. If the battery were like 5000 mah i can see them slimming the phone to this level with the camera specs you talked about but at this size? not really.
And even if they could, they already have the thinnest foldable, and by a nice margin as well. I do think that they could've AT LEAST fit a 1/3.52" UW cam but they're just holding back to make the Find N6 look even better. But hey man you've gotta say, the thinness is indeed impressive.

If for nothing else, it shows how low production volumes they're getting out of this? Sort of like all Chinese "flagship" vapourware, just for show with influencer accounts.
