      They increased the base storage on the $499 iPad mini 7 to 128GB, so there is hope that this rumour pans out to be incorrect. Only time will tell, but if this is also $499 I would be very surprised if it has 64GB storage. Plus iPhones have never had MicroSD card support so this would be dumb. I mean some cheaper devices start at 256GB or even 512GB in some cases.

                Actually, 64 GB is fine for me. My SE 2022 has the same amount and I still have 8 GB left. Most of my media consumption is through streaming whether Google Photos, Pluto TV, and Tubi.

                I have an unused 256 GB microSD card because I don't know what to put on it if all my favorite movies and TV shows were already uploaded on Google Photos from a Pixel 3. I only need large storage for gaming handhelds. Storage space is kinda overrated these days thanks to cloud streaming. And it's not like I plan to watch every single thing. Streaming and cloud eliminated the need for storage.

                  Hope 64gb is without camera and ipod features

                        This isn't to 'preserve profit margins', it's to advertise a lower base price, create reasons to buy more expensive models, trick users into needing to upgrade sooner, and reduce resale demand. Standard apple playbook

                            atleast this one will get updates on time

                              The target consumers for this phone are 12-16 year old teenagers who don't really care about storage and just want an iPhone so Apple went with the minimum

                                        If you really want an iPhone only buy Pro or Pro Max models with high storage. And disable iCloud the first day. When your storage runs low just but a decent flash drive and transfer your files.
