iKashif, 16 Feb 2025I purchased S24 Ultra just because of Samsung has good trac... moreI purchased s24u for this and other reasons too.
The security updates are there, so delayed major version is not a problem.
The amount of features in One UI 6 (even without considering Good Lock) is still years ahead of any pixel device with latest android 16 and comparable to other android manufacturers when considering Good Lock.
Having a delayed major release is actually a plus. When you receive it, it will be much better polished and more stable.

In August 2024 there was an article here claiming that release (it wasn't even mentioned if beta or stable) of one UI 7 is going to happen on the very same month of August 2024. I told it's not going to happen and many contradicted me. We are now in February 2025 and there is still no stable One UI 7 release for s24 series.
I'm an S24u owner by the way.

I think you thought I said "tired of", but I never said that. What I said was that you could've at least TRIED to answer my question. I get it tho, english is hard, but still.
"Sammy will still get longer software supports. "
When? 🤣 Chinese phones have already received Android 15 months ago, Android 16 is coming and the S24 series, you know those "flagships" from last year are still on Android 14. What's the point of long software support if it's so slow that by the time you get the updates they are already outdated?

The reality is like this. 3+ months Samsung can't even release A15 for S24U... And it looks like they won't for a few more months... So no visions on my part, just math and logic.

I've said this before. This seven-updates promise is BS. Google will keep releasing new version at short intervals and we'll be done with 7 OS updates in 4 years or less. There's no way they're being this generous for no reason. :D

danielfgom, 15 Feb 2025Samsung are REALLY messing up this year. First they destroy... moreThey already do, problem is they have up to 70 devices to receive one ui 7, 70!! In 2/3 years time they will be helpless cause it will be easily a 100 plus. Even with all developers on board, it's humanely impossible to properly update and optimize that many devices. I'd expect way more bugs, especially on entry level phones, and less timely updates from them going forward.
