    Anonymous, 18 Feb 2025Base S20 price at launch was $1000 in 2020 (equivalent to $... moreComponents became cheaper, especially the ones that they've been using for years, even 1440p displays aren't that expensive anymore, not to mention that the newer S series has flat displays instead of curved like the S20, and flat displays are cheaper even if most people consider flat over curved an upgrade. There is no reason the S25 shouldn't have cameras that are miles ahead of the S20, a display that's better in every way, faster charging and a bigger battery.

    Technology has advanced, Samsung has not.

      Same midrange phone as last year, just a bit more expensive, and a bit faster. Big deal.

        I can get S24 256GB for 630€. Very tempting. But I'll probably go for iphone. More expensive but better camera.

          Base S25 price at launch is $800 in 2025.

          So thats $400 price different.

            S23 now hard to find and cost more then S24 and it's worth it to go with S24 for under 600 euro over S25 something 800 euro.

            Would be nice to see more S23 for sale and around 400 euro range or under it like 350 and it would still sell well as still get like 3 OS updates and be only compact to get in that price range

              So for most people S25 will be better, it will even take pictures faster than previous S24 thanks to the new snapdragon chip.

                  This cameras are non acceptable... Cheaper mid-range phones makes better or thae same quality pictures. Lot of noise, blurry details. its shame for samsung, this quality was acceptable maybe in s22. When i compare my s20 to s24, sometimes s20 makes better pictures with lower noise. The phone is great but camera is really bad...

                    Please make S25 vs S23. It will be interesting.

                      I guess the only reason to get the S25 is 12GB RAM. But really, 128GB internal storage has to go, especially when there's no microSD card slot. Sony can still keep the still-relevant card slot despite selling the Xperia 5 series with 256GB internal storage.

It means the opposite: the sales are going strong so they don't feel the need to change anything. Which is super lame and sad, since the cameras are unacceptable for the price, except for the main camera. Faulty lenses, no macro and my 8 year old Huawei P10 easily beats my S23 in night mode. The P10 can see in pitch black, the S23 cannot.

                        Also, I would have loved to see the S23 in the comparison as well!

                            Well it is thinner, comes with 12GB RAM 256GB storage on base model and no price hike. Those camera rings need to go and that telephoto needs to be updated. Also the colours are horrible this year.

                              When the only difference that can be seen is the chipset, then the company is cooked.
