Believe me you have no idea what they can do at 4K120HDR rec in sunny day...
VideoPro was the best app for video I ever seen but people want something "one button" sooo they recive new app that is like toy for kids (1VI).
As for oversharpening, you are sorely wrong. Xperia renders details very subtly at full frame level (new video will show this). Even a very dense mountain pine forest at a distance of 500 meters from the lens is rendered with details without spots...

Sony needs to do better, especially with their software. They had so many good apps on their devices like their Album app, their version of Shazam (TrackID), and the ability to put a picture in the ambient display lock screen.

        My next phone will not be a Sony if they don't start changing and I've been using Sony phones since the Xperia Ion.

        The only Chinese brand I'm considering is Huawei (despite the sanctions) since they have a more complete ecosystem than the others. I'll deal with the limitations of Harmony OS, but they look like beautiful devices.

Chinese flagship manufacturers don't prioritize chassis footprint, weight, weight balance and thickness so there they opt for huge camera islands in order to cram those huge sensors inside.

          Xperia on the other hand care/ed about ergonomics and to keep weight in check. Periscope with anything bigger than 1/2.5 would require big camera bump. Periscope module by it's nature needs to be laid out horizontally and paired with a big sensor it's the biggest culprit to huge circle camera bumps as seen on Vivo, Oppo and others. Periscope module can't be placed vertically.

          Xperia needs to ditch old telephoto sensor for something modern but it needs to keep that sensor size in check like Samsung Ultra does.

            Main sensor to 1 inches and other, like 0.7 inches or more.

            Vivo X100 Ultra has a 200MP sensor, but the quality isn't true 200MP quality, so it looks terrible with AI image processing.
            I love normal image processing pixels.

            Normal image processing is amazing in bright places.

I already checked the source for this news, and when I see it as "Sumahodigest", I already knew that it was the unreliable source of Xperia all these times. They got it wrong many times, such as on the 52 MP main camera during OG Xperia 1 early leaks (the number 52 mm turns to be the telephoto reach of OG X1), then periscope camera that should have been the 3D iToF in Xperia 1 II. In 1 IV, I think it were the 45W charging rate and LTPO display. It's been a pattern since 2019. But I do hope the Exmor T sensor for the ultrawide and telephoto lens for 1 VII do become a reality.

                      I don't mind the ultrawide camera remains at 12MP 1/2.55", but the telephoto seriously needs a huge upgrade. Sony really needs to move on from 12MP 1/3.5" sensor. If Sony can utilize LYT-500 or even IMX858 sensor for the telephoto camera, that would be great.

                            Also, jpeg is 90% alike compared to dng. It does not have the cellphone looking. Something all other should do too.
