Anonymous, 25 Feb 2025Yeah like 5+ year with minimal change in looks(back camera)... moreI rather have this than the circle. I actually use the phone and those big circles would get smuged a bunch or it will be in my way while grabbing it 🙂

I recall a time we thought the V hinge on the Z Fold gave it a few benefits vs. the teardrop. They were s-pen support, flex mode and water resistance. In Dec of '22 the Find N3 had two of those benefits, leaving water resistance as the Z's only advantage. The Mate X3 overcome that obstacle only 3 months later.
So, each foldable starting with the Razr, we saw hardware that challenged the Z, match the Z and eventually leapfrog the Z. Yet, they could never outsell the Z Fold, dethrone it as the most popular book fold or prove their durability was better.
Now, with this alleged leak of the Z7, we're starting to see Samsung catch up where they fell behind. The main advantage the others have is battery tech and Sam will start addressing that issue next year.
The pendulum is swinging.

Im comparing based on the foldables that i use. Battery size is actually not the biggest problem of the Fold.
Comparing Honor Magic V3 and Samsung Fold 6 in real life usage- even with smaller battery, the Fold 6 lasts a few hours longer than the V3. Even if charging speed of V3 is faster than the Fold 6, it wouldnt matter when you are outside and your phone says its low battery.
V3 is thinner yes, but Fold6's design is actually more elegant and feels more higher end. The more square and flat design of fold 6 looks more stunning and balanced when folded compared to the assymetrical round corners of V3.
Even the crease, yes, the fold.6 has a lot more noticable crease while the v3 was almost non visible at the beginning will eventually start to show more after a few months.
Only reason i had to try v3 is the pen support but V3' Magic pen is SO hard to buy and import. Even some salespeople at their own local Honor stores are not even aware that THERE IS a pen specifically made for Honor foldables. Stupid of Honor not to ship the Magic Pen to countries where they sell the V3. Had to import mine double the price plus shipping charges and have yet to receive it. Honor's local customer service support is a joke but i guess samsungs customer support is not that good too.
Camera. Its good for light selfies and casual shots both camera system are shitty to be quite honest and not at the level for its price
Now, there are some rumors that SPen may be changed or removed from the Fold 7. That will be so stupid and it will be the doom of samsung foldable. Foldables are the ultimate media and productivity device in one - great for reading, good for media, great for note taking and quick sketching, not good for imaging. If you remove the pen that will reduce its productivity potential and the price will not be justifiable.if theres one thin all foldables must do is to make their camera flagship level and not use marketing to make it look like they already have great camera system.

The battery capacity could be better, Samsung. I mean, your smaller Z Flip foldable series got increased capacities of its mAh battery twice, from 3300 in Z Flip3 to 4000 in Z Flip4/5, then 3700 in Z Flip5 to 4000 in Z Flip6. What makes this is a problem with Z Fold that is bigger? Even Sony able to cram 4500 mAh battery on Xperia Ace II/Ace III despite being smaller than Z Fold 6.

I actually laughed at looking the picture 🤣
Because i can already see the angry comments pointing out that it looks the same as last model 😅
Did y'all complained during the S6 to S7? Or S8 to S9? I guess not 🤭
Also, many thanks for keeping the squared corners on the Z Fold7 Samsung!
I though they would ruin it like with the S25 Ultra.

Just make that crease unnoticeable. That will be the minimum expectation.

If this isn't going to get a better battery and telephoto camera, I'll be switching to another brand. As much as I like the OS, the (speculated) hardware just isn't enough to justify buying one

Finally they are making a bit of effort on the design! But then a 4400mah battery ruins it so let's wait for the Fold 8 and hope that is both thin and has decent battery life!

If such is the case, then the Fold 7 is looking a bit more appealing. They also have to really work on reducing the visibility of that crease. If both are true, then they're finally catching up.

So... still not as thin as the competitors while having a much smaller battery?
Sticking with the same pathetic 4,400 mAh battery is just sad.
