We got a dedicated camera button on ZTE and Tecno phones before Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi. This is just embarrassing. And no, the "camera control" touch sensitive thing is NOT a button.

One of them reminds me of the Samsung S21/22. Shame Samsung couldn't refine their design into something like that instead of just removing the camera housing and making every phone look like generic.

Why is every phone doing camera buttons again ?
That on every phone in 1773 B.C.
Now 1 phone comes out with camera button all of a sudden everyone wants to copy. Its useless. How about u tap your screen softly and not punch it.

They have good hardware for their phones specially 20 premier and 30 premier. But their software has been terrible, with heating issues.
Also terrible pricing in my country. Their last 2 flagships ended up getting massive price cuts within 6 months of launch because of very low sales.
Improve software, launch at competitive price for a small brand and they could be successful.

Ohh thank you shit, the camera button on every Chinese phone because of the iPhone, Tecno is a good brand because it innovates in it's designs each year, camon 18 is not 19 not 20 not 30 and not 40 but it should not go in the same way as Tecno and itel which copy that competition even though they are of the same company

vik457, 26 Feb 2025Why?I have an overall impression that Lytia sensors has a bit better result than the current IMX 890/896 they used on Camon 30 series.
I wish Tecno doesn't suffered from Motorola syndrome (good brand with potential, but so-so/poor excecution), but still, they advanced on photography for smartphone over the last years. If they want to put Camon 40 as a budget cameraphone series, they need to do more than the obvious or a dedicated shutter button.

By the way, Tecno in Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and other countries are already promoting Camon 40 series on Twitter with some kind of gift box with accessories and pre-order prices.
Camon 40 (8GB / 256GB) = GHS 3419.00 / US$222
Camon 40 Pro (8GB / 256GB) = GHS 3849.00 / US$250

Tecno should use Sony Lytia sensors on Camon 40 series, but I don't know how much it would add to the final price.

I mean these are phones with the name Camon, it makes sense to give them a camera button.
