AYO? I'm surprised to see Fujifilm being mentioned. This marks the first time they've ever partnered with a smartphone OEM.
I wonder if this means we'll get Fujifilm's awesome film simulations on this phone. I would love to shoot with Provia, Astia and Classic Chrome on a smartphone.

OneBraincelledWunkus, 28 Feb 2025Ah yes like not all smartphone output to 12mp after binning... moreI tried changing warmth etc on xiaomi, but other colors besides maybe one I hit right, went a wrong way, basically, once its captured in wrong color, nothing will help unless you play with multiple colors on photoshop etc.
Like there was comparison between xiaomi and vivo recently, and while vivo still lags in my fav neutral from samsung, vivo was with a better hdr and colors in that comparison, xiaomi having more yellow grass etc... well vivo one was green/yellow mix, but not as bad as xiaomi.
Well I found such difference also on fullframes tho, with some brands having more yellow profile, but the leading tech got also cold colors, so it shouldnt be just sony... not to mention it feels more natural to me - basically, multiple reasons.
well, there is like oppo, when in comparison a lot of images were great, but then it just hit a snow, while samsung went for pure white, oppos one were yellowish - sort of summer filter, and its present in most brands, but some can better fight it than others. - Huawei for example is good in that, but they got a different problems - since they use a different sensor, their colors tend to misstep a lot - less yellow tho.
Then again, I more into raw possibilities, and with bigger sensor sizes and raw options, some compromises can be made.

DCG looks extremely promising and Apple's videos already look quite processed so imagine a less processed video with DCG looking better than Apple's one.
I have a feeling that unfortunately instead of comparing the natural-ness people will say Apple's videos have better highlight control/shadow brightening and thus Apple is better. But let's hope future DCG cameras are so good that they blow everyone away.

I find it very hard to imagine how shooting with a thin slab plus e.g. a ~1 kg tele is supposed to be a comfortable experience.

Kangal, 01 Mar 2025Nope.
What we need is a better balance between quantity of... moreI think what you're suggesting is outlandish but it'd be nice to have. Oh and btw, there are so many mods for the main cams of phones out there, you should check em out. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra with a 50-70 mm main cam mod is breathtaking.
The lossless zoom part, i absolutely agree and have been preaching that for a while. Smartphone cameras are so big now that they don't need the quad bayer tech. We should go back to proper high resolution sensors made with multiple aspect ratios in mind, as people like to do 16:9 shots due to the large black bars, and due to the high res the cropping would be easy and near, if not actually, lossless.
I don't really need that, I think that a 14 mm 1/2" sensor is good enough, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra for example, if we have an updated lens with better sharpness with the same exceptional noise and color of that phone, im gonna be completely satisfied. I must say tho, that Vivo might be cooking with the X200 Ultra.
I don't really think 6x is that important, I think what Xiaomi is doing is the best for zoom enthusiasts, there's no need for 6x apart from native focal length portraits. The Xiaomi's telephoto is so good it can do a cropped 6x and come extremely close to a native "small" 6x.
Those are available as mods bro, the problem with phones is that they're supposed to be all in ones, so people expect them to have everything whilst being pocketable so i can understand why manufacturers dont release official stuff like that.
And I disagree with the last statement, apart from videography, Apple's completely beat in point and shoot i'd say. The only thing they might be better at is shutter lag in the auto mode but even then, they usually choose such low shutter that the photos come out pretty mid-bad, especially at night where the night mode processing requires a long shutter to be viable.

The Fuji brand is just a branding to sell more phones. Do you guys also believe the Porsche edition of Honor phones was also co-developed by Porsche and made the phone go zoom zoom faster?

jiyen235, 01 Mar 2025If fujifilm's filters are even 80% of their own camera... moreNope.
What we need is a better balance between quantity of cameras, and quality of cameras. Having a single 1-inch sensor is good but not great. Having 5 cameras with smaller sensors is good, but not great. I think we need:
- DSLR Lens attachment for the Main Large (1-inch) sensor
- Main sensor is Wide, but can do "lossless" x3 Zoom
- A good quality proper (+120') Ultrawide camera
- Third camera as great quality x6 Optical Zoom telephoto
- Professional attached lens can do fisheye, extreme macro, ultra-ultra wide, and optical zoom anywhere from, x9 to a telescope, for Moon Photos.
That's it. The processing and sensors have gotten good, what is holding photography back is reality/physics not being able to take advantage of them, using proper and larger glass lenses. For everything else, you can't beat the iPhone Camera and it's prowess for those Point'n'Shoot performance.
