Anonymous, 01 Mar 2025These GPUs real price is under 400$. Ask for the Costs of P... moreBest way to quantify the value of the card is to:
- find the true sale price (not fake MSRP)
- test in real-world conditions (10 old, 10 newer, 10 current games)
- compare the FPS versus Dollar
If you do this, you will notice AMD has been offering better value since the RX-5700. The best source for such thorough testing has been Tim and Steve from TechSpot, or Hardware Unboxed. The premium you pay for Team Green/Nvidia is really not worth it for most people. And supporting Radeon division has indirectly led to helping the open standards, like VRR, Vulkan, and FSR. But never assume, always have the testing done by a reliable and reputable source that is third-party. Sometimes AMD does relase a poor-value product, and even at times where it is "technically" better value, the correct choice is sometimes to skip that product. For example, instead of an RTX 5070 you might find a faster RTX 4070Ti-Super or RTX 3080Ti or RX-6900 card, and all cards at a lower price. The wise buyer stays ahead.

P.S. (allow previous) : Forget about their 'FSR' down-upsampling trickeries. Anti-aliasing Sucks. (same trick as 'motion blur', which actually is a same-family trick.)
What's the purpose of GPUs that can burn your house ? It's clear that innovation is falling down, they just stack more GPUs into the same sizes, which isn't acually Innovating.
Nevermind the software hell that always handicaps everything just for the sake of 'upgrading'.
*useless mitigations on a rootfull n^n+1 pan-backdoored --from the TPU -UEFI- microcode - bootleader -kernel - &all versions of .dlls ('compatibility' also means allowing oldest 'bugs' by default) -- OS(Windows) etc. etc.

These GPUs real price is under 400$. Ask for the Costs of Production, their margins, + their Premiums for mass buying the materials, wavers etc.
As I tried to say : We shouldn't give a **** about their cost of production if the Moore's 'law' is dead and grounded, meaning double performance for the same bucks after just 1.5 years. (test this heavily when you buy something : If you don't get double for the same buck, which is 100% impossible with the current business models and stock Buy Backs), just avoid 'upgrading' .

Pricing seems competitive enough, but the capabilities already exist on Nvidia Gpus for a while now, and with better performance (better DLSS, better ray tracing etc)

Kamikaze, 28 Feb 2025The problem isn't with the XT, it's not a bad val... moreYou should read up on binning. They make 9070's from poor XT chips, if they have good chips then they will have more XT's and they are not going to disable CUs on an otherwise better chip.
That's why the prices are similar. It's because of quantity.

They should add a 24gb variant to the line up.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2025Lol 9700 XT is 42% faster than 7900 GRE which has 5120 shaders. these numbers are at native resolution not using any super resolution upscaling or fsr.
so it's much better than what nvidia showed for their 5000 series cards.
these cards are steal for that price.

The XT will be in demand, and once its price goes up people are going to look at the 9070. The supply of the 9070 is likely limited and that's why it's priced so close to the XT. If demand is low, and supply rises you'll see the 9070 drop in price

We shouldn't give a **** about their cost of producing if the performance is a shame.
Consider that Moore's Law is dead and grounded. After 7 years, I can't find a CPU +100% performant at the same price that I paid for mine but AMD is messing the microcode to force everyone change it, which also implies another useless heavily-overpriced Motherboard etc.etc. (as Idea ! it's the same ****.)

SShock, 28 Feb 2025That's like saying a V8 from 1950s is the same as mode... moreit uses basically the same tsmc node, and doesnt have a vastly different CU.. thats the whole point. the silicon size is also not even 10% bigger.
