McDonald's sells land, Apple is a marketing firm.
They always compare new devices to really old devices. It's 4x faster than something that came out years ago, so it's actually 0.3x faster than last year's model.

    Their marketing team shall be fired. They're comparing the performance of the latest M4 chip to the four-generations-old M1, which is hardly a fair comparison. Recently, they also claimed the iPhone 16e has the best battery life among 6.1-inch iPhones—while conveniently stacking it against the six-year-old iPhone 11.

    I have nothing against MacBooks—they're fast, well-optimized, lightweight, and offer great battery life, build quality, design, a comfortable keyboard, excellent speakers, a stunning display, and a solid webcam. While there are some software trade-offs and limitations for business use, including glitches in popular meeting platforms, they make up for it in other areas.

        if u get lucky, u can get some laptop with 4060 rtx for 999 bucks, but it will be ugly, chunky, heawy pease of plastic u dont want carry with you and 99% time will be at home, so better buy desktop.
        So macbook air is stylish, powerful, with good battery life and easy to carry.

                      My phone uses 45GB and my laptop 75GB so 256gb is more than enough.

                                    OK? What makes you think their cheapest MacBook Air is what they want to sell the most of? If 256GB isn't enough, customers will purchase the higher-spec'd unit.

                                      laptops have, and is priced very competitively

                                      the 999usd price point is there to make it look attractive
