LOL dont get me laugh this is midranger at the best and most with its specs.
How could a midranger won against something like Xiaomi 15 Ultra which is miles better in every single aspect even its more available than Google pixel.

Hanif Fikri, 06 Mar 2025Best camera phone aren't the same as best phone Still, Google's abysmal battery life and 128GB base storage (which also is only UFS3.1) should automatically disqualify it from being chosen.

Even better if the rumoured Sony IMX907 (which will almost definitely get renamed) is used for the main camera, and the telephoto uses the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 and ALoP. I doubt that's realistic though, cause we all know how unambitious Google are with their hardware.

jiyen235, 06 Mar 2025it's bad for the price. Tensor chip + slow charging + ... moreI didn't say Google deserved to win. I just thought it's not bad for a phone in a package that size. That's all. There's many phones that are much better than it, and I don't think I'm buying another Google Pixel if Google continues to stagnate like this.

"The Pixel 9 Pro was selected for its "outstanding performance.."

I mean, it does stand out as the slowest of all 2024 flagship phones.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2025It's certainly not trash, it has a good battery life. ... moreNo it's trash. 4700mah but same battery life as the 4000mah S25? Lmaooo

And the Xiaomi 14 has the same size as the Pixel 9 Pro but with a smaller battery and still has a much better battery life! Stop being delusional! A 4700mah phone should have a better battery life. It's all because of Tensor and Google's bad optimization.

A beta phone won. The world of technology is obviously also devolving.

Darth Caesium, 06 Mar 2025Not that the Pixel 9 Pro is bad, but I would've given ... moreit's bad for the price. Tensor chip + slow charging + 128 gb base storage. What a horrendous offer.

The Xperia 5 V was smaller, had front firing speakers, an sd card slot + a headphone jack with the same base storage, thus supplementing the horrible storage option with an alternative path, and also beats the Pixel 9 Pro with better battery life. Not to mention the fact that the SD 8 Gen 2 was a faster chip.

So you're telling me apart from the addition of a telephoto cam, a 2 year old beating a new phone is not utterly embarrassing? Like im not being rude/angry towards you but at Google and the people who awarded this. Install Gcam on the xperia and you essentially have a telephoto-less equivalent photography kit. The selfie's better but i don't really see world class shots from this phone, i much prefer Apple's processing overall and Samsung's processing at night.

Btw Sony, apart from Apple, imo has the best HDR videography solution on phones. The videos from their 1 V i saw were exceptional and Apple only wins due to the "balance" that they bring which can be handy in tough situations, but Sony's HLG implementation is best in class, stunning HDR videos that POP, yet aren't oversaturated or anything like that, and you also have an SDR base layer that you can easily fall back to due to the HLG format.
