BlackBerry Q10 cited to be a commercial failure by retailers

30 August, 2013
Looks like more bad news for BlackBerry as the Q10 isn't selling as much as they'd hope it would.

It's just that for some (me and few of my qwerty-loving friends), BlackBerries are total bummer when compared to android sliders.

I mean, I'd rather use HTC Dream than BB, not out of spite, but because it's much more comfy to use.

Everywhere you hear that qwerty market is dying. But apart from BB phones, I've hardly seen one WELL designed qwerty phone recently.
If anything appears, it's so idiotically designed and hideous that no one would buy it, physical keyboard or not.

In my opinion it is much more intuitive, practical and functional as a communications tool than any Android phone I have ever owned. Love my BB Q10

Q10 is a failure because of the very dim display. A gorgeus phone with a garbage display.

Headline says cited by Retailers article says cited by ONE retailer. Sound like a bunch of BB hating baloney. This is the first i have heard of mass returns. They just released the things and then a price mark down just came like most products that have been out for a bit. Now I chose to buy my Q10 because the price is cheaper. I did not upgrade before because my Blackberry bold was still serving me just fine. The Blackberry Q10 is a fantastic phone. The hub is great for my life of business and pleasure. Good phone maybe others still have no real need to upgrade their old BB yet as most are bullet proof. Still I need the physical keyboard for real work answering emails and texts. I have tried the touch and it just is not the same. The kids and such can mess around but i need business and to type, not having to constantly correct or have misspellings. The pickup rate on these new phones is just slow as it is a replacement item to many.

AnonD-175019, 03 Sep 2013who told you to pay for a phone with half the specs?huh?buy... moreBb is expensive. Except the keyboard, bb has nothing can compare to other touch screen phones: app, hardware. RIM doesn't understand the market demand. They just offer what they like and think that the market will be happy to accept it. Their area has gone but they still sleep on their glory. Who spent a big sum of money for their device while there a ton of devices with high end features outside. I just keep 9900 as a nice memory about bb and never spend money for their no brain recently released devices.

I hope someday one of the manufacturers make a phone that has a big screen with physical keyboard and also with great cpu performance, superb battery. I would definitely buy!

                              Blackberry Q10 = £430

                              etc..
Why would I pay £430 for a phone with half the specs as other similar priced phones? Decent phone, But pricing was also a major factor

If the report proves accurate (and I am not disputing it) then the myth of QWERTY is blown out of the water; it really surprises me. My wife for one has for two years rejected my touch screen; claiming that her nails are too long.

So, BlackBerry really do have NOTHING to offer. It really is their Waterloo. Sad ..... but ..... looking back at the months ... NO, years of Lazaridis HUBRIS one should not be surprised.

Blackberry will not learn its lesson and will price the promising 9720 out of reach to the public.
